Los Angeles has more SEO agencies than any buyer can reasonably compare. That should make your job easier. Well, it doesn’t.
Most owners I talk to in Los Angeles have already been through two or three digital marketing firms. They got a monthly PDF, a few ranking screenshots, and no clear line to revenue. So now they don’t trust any of it.
I get why. The pitches all sound the same. That’s why we scored the market instead. We pulled public data on 50 Los Angeles SEO companies.
Sources were Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, and SEMrush. Every claim about Los Angeles SEO services here traces back to one of them.
Each firm got graded on service focus, brand authority, client satisfaction, and employee ratings. No proven strategies, no innovative solutions, no marketing language. Just data.
Then we adjusted for cost. The priciest shops don’t get to win by default. Nobody paid to be here. Nothing on this list is sponsored.
One thing surprised me about Los Angeles SEO. The score gap between first and fifteenth is wider than the gap between fifteenth and fiftieth.
Below are the 15 Los Angeles SEO companies that held up.
Best SEO Agencies in Los Angeles (2026): At a Glance

- KlientBoost — Paid ads are the core here. SEO services and landing page work wrap around that.
- Vivial — Small business digital marketing sold as one bundled platform. Aimed at owners who want a comprehensive suite handled for them.
- Hibu — A done-for-you local shop. Strongest for brands that juggle listings and social media campaigns across many neighborhoods.

- Scorpion — A trusted SEO company for law firms, home services, and healthcare. The work sits on its own software.
- Digital Web Solutions — Link building and outreach lead the offer. The hourly rate sits among the lowest here.

Deep Dive: Top SEO Agencies in Los Angeles
Let’s explain each agency in detail. These in-depth reviews will help you identify the best fit based on your growth stage, marketing needs, and budget.
1. WebFX: Legitimate frontrunner if you want search, ads, and the website handled by one team

- Website: webfx.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 based on 1,082 reviews
- Team Size: 1,169 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 30
- Monthly Website Visits: 448.6K
- Employee Review Score: 4.25 based on 444 reviews
Overview
WebFX did not begin as a marketing agency. Two founders started it as a web design shop in the mid nineties. The name changed twice before it stuck. That history still shapes the business.
Web design, development, and digital marketing sit under one roof here, not in separate departments. Manufacturing is where I see them turn up most.
Their reviews are full of metal stampers, masonry suppliers, and industrial parts makers. Few Los Angeles SEO experts take that work.
Those sites are hard to rank. Thin product pages, technical language, and almost nothing for search engines to index.
Search engines reward that patience, and organic traffic follows. One assistive technology maker has stayed with them for years.
Online revenue grew across that whole run, not in a single spike. Their Los Angeles work skews toward manufacturers and healthcare groups.
You should look here if you want one digital marketing agency for SEO, ads, and the site itself. If you want a small team that knows your first name, keep scrolling.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization, including technical SEO audits and on page SEO
- Generative engine optimization for AI search visibility
- Pay per click and social media marketing management
- Content marketing and SEO copywriting
- Web design and web development, including platform migrations
Why They Rank #1
- 6K monthly visits is the second highest here. They rank their own site in search engines, which is the first proof point you should want.
- 1,169 people on LinkedIn means your account will not stall when someone takes leave.
- 30 years in business covers several algorithm resets and two recessions.
- 4.90 rating across 1,082 reviews is the strongest volume-plus-score pairing on this list.
- The $1,000 entry point keeps them reachable, even at this scale.
- The 4.25 employee score among 444 reviews is mostly positive.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients consistently praise the reporting depth and the responsiveness of account teams. Communication and project management come up again and again. A minority report missed deadlines, unapproved content going live, and quality slipping after an account lead moves on.
Our Take
Hire them if you want search, ads, and the site run by one large team. The reporting is real. Los Angeles manufacturers and healthcare groups will fit best. Small local shops may feel like a small account here.
2. KlientBoost: Clear standout if you already spend on ads and organic is the missing half

- Website: klientboost.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 based on 1,464 reviews
- Team Size: 93 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 11
- Monthly Website Visits: 133.9K
- Employee Review Score: 3.7 based on 200 reviews
Overview
KlientBoost started on a specific bet. Its founder thought paid ads and landing page work belonged on the same team.
Organic search engine optimization joined the offer later. That order matters when you read their case studies.
Paid channels move faster than search engines ever will. Software companies are where the digital marketing depth sits.
Their published work leans hard toward SaaS and B2B firms chasing demos, trials, and business growth. One client mentioned reviewing ten other agencies before signing here.
That detail stuck with me. Buyers who shop that hard want proof before they commit.
This firm publishes more of it than almost anyone. In Los Angeles that lands them among funded software companies rather than local service firms.
Expect a paid-first mind applied to organic SEO work. If your growth already runs on ads, search built next to it will make sense to you.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization and content marketing strategy
- Pay per click across Google, Microsoft, and paid social
- Conversion rate optimization and landing page testing
- Email and lifecycle marketing
- Performance creative for paid channels
Why They Rank #2
- 1,464 reviews is the largest client sample on this entire list.
- A 4.90 rating signals positive feedback and is hard to dismiss.
- A team of 93 is small next to the firms above and below. Expect a tighter, more senior bench.
- 11 years in business is the shortest run in the top five. That is still well past the point where most agencies fold.
- 9K monthly visits shows they can rank a competitive site in search engines.
- 3.7 employee scores across 200 reviews is the softest number in their profile. Ask about account continuity.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers focus on cost per lead dropping and conversion rates climbing. The constant testing gets named often, as does fast, direct communication. A recurring note is that onboarding felt thin and early strategy took a few rounds to align.
Our Take
Best for Los Angeles SEO buyers in software and B2B. You should already be spending on ads. The paid instinct sharpens their search work. If you want a pure organic partner with no ad spend, look elsewhere.
3. Vivial: Seriously worth your shortlist if you prefer one bundled bill and almost no involvement

- Website: thryv.com (Now operates as Thryv)
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.10 based on 10 reviews
- Team Size: 5,937 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 116
- Monthly Website Visits: 723.7K
- Employee Review Score: 3.3 based on 1,684 reviews
Overview
Vivial sells to the corner of the market most agencies skip. Body shops, insurance offices, and neighborhood real estate brokers buying digital marketing services.
The engine behind that is a content marketing hub they built. It writes local articles and offers at scale, then feeds them to search engines and social platforms.
The idea won them real credit. An award for new thinking, plus a spot on a list of top search providers. Then Thryv bought the company. Clients now sit inside a software product instead of a plain agency deal.
I would ask hard questions about that shift. One body shop client praised the account team, but the model around that team has changed.
Across Los Angeles County their accounts skew automotive and insurance. This suits a small local owner who wants one bill and no choices to make.
If you want a strategist you can push back on, look elsewhere.
Core Services
- Local search optimization and content marketing at scale
- Search engine marketing and paid campaigns
- Reputation and review management
- Social media management
- Web design and hosting
Why They Rank #3
- 7K monthly visits is the highest figure on this list by a wide margin.
- 5,937 associated members means capacity is never the constraint here.
- 116 years traces back to the directory publishing business this company grew out of.
- A 4.10 rating rests on only 10 reviews. That is a thin sample, and you should weigh it lightly.
- 3.3 employee scores across 1,684 reviews is the weakest staff signal in the top five.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Account managers get named personally in several reviews, and clients credit them with steady growth over long engagements. Others describe weak search results and contracts that proved hard to exit, with support going quiet after signing. The gap between those experiences is wide enough to check references first.
Our Take
Suited to small Los Angeles operators who want one bundled bill and minimal involvement. Automotive and insurance offices see the most value. Anyone who needs strategic pushback or a flexible contract should look further down this list.
4. Hibu: Calculated risk if you have no marketing staff at all

- Website: hibu.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 3.80 based on 26 reviews
- Team Size: 4,525 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 96
- Monthly Website Visits: 293.9K
- Employee Review Score: 3.7 based on 2,453 reviews
Overview
Hibu sells one platform from one provider. Web design, listings, reviews, ads, and search engine optimization all arrive together as digital marketing services.
The bundle is the whole pitch. You cannot really buy the SEO services piece on its own here. The partner credentials are real. Google, Meta, Amazon Ads, and Microsoft all list them at partner tier.
The Better Business Bureau rates them at the top grade. Their own case work shows heavy local lead volume inside a single quarter.
Home services, dental offices, and auto shops make up most of that client base. These are owners with no marketing staff at all.
Their Los Angeles base is dominated by home services and dental practices. Buy this if you want the whole thing off your desk.
Read the contract terms closely before you sign anything.
Core Services
- Local search optimization and Google Business Profile management
- Web design and hosting
- Paid search and display advertising
- Review and reputation management
- Automated email and text marketing
Why They Rank #4
- 9K monthly visits shows the brand carries genuine weight in search engines.
- 4,525 associated members support a national footprint across many small accounts.
- 96 years traces back to the directory publishing business this company grew out of. The digital agency is much younger.
- The 3.80 rating is the lowest here, drawn from 26 reviews. Consider going through them before you commit.
- 3.7 employee scores across 2,453 reviews is a large sample landing at an average number.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Map visibility is where this one lands hardest, with several clients reporting real gains in local rankings after the listings work. Others describe heavy spend with little return and disputes over website ownership at contract end. Read the exit terms before signing.
Our Take
A fit for home services and dental practices in Los Angeles, California with no marketing staff who want everything bundled. The local search work can land. Confirm website ownership and exit terms before signing, because that is where complaints cluster.
5. SmartSites: Genuinely strong option if you need a new site and rankings at the same time

- Website: smartsites.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 based on 986 reviews
- Team Size: 298 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 15
- Monthly Website Visits: 138.8K
- Employee Review Score: 4.5 based on 107 reviews
Overview
SmartSites runs web design and SEO as one job. Same team, same brief, no handoff between them. You can see that in the platforms they favor. Both are built to be read cleanly by search engines.
Magento and WordPress builds show up constantly in their portfolio. The growth has been steady rather than sudden.
They have landed on the Inc 5000 list nearly every year for a decade. Google lists them at premier partner tier.
Meta names them a marketing partner. An independent service quality survey scored them near the top. One review stood out to me. That client had worked with five other agencies first and said this team handled the complexity better.
Los Angeles ecommerce brands and law firms make up much of their work in this market. This is the safest pick here if you need a new site and rankings at once.
A channel specialist may still go deeper on search alone.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization, including technical SEO and local SEO
- Web design and web development on WordPress, Shopify, and Magento
- Pay per click and social media marketing management
- Email and SMS marketing
- Organic social media management
Why They Rank #5
- 5.00 rating across 986 reviews is the cleanest score-and-volume pairing in the entire top 15.
- 298 people gives you real bench depth without becoming an enterprise account.
- 4.5 from 107 employee reviews is the strongest staff signal in this batch. Low churn usually means account continuity.
- 8K monthly visits proves the SEO services apply to their own site too.
- 15 years is a short run next to the firms above. Weigh that against the review record.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Feedback is unusually consistent. Clients highlight responsiveness, deadlines that hold, and clear value for the money spent. Traffic and conversion gains get named often. A handful wanted deeper strategic thinking on search rather than steady execution.
Our Take
Strong pick for Los Angeles ecommerce and legal firms needing a site and rankings together. The design and search pairing is the real advantage. If search alone is your gap, a focused specialist may dig deeper.
6. Coalition Technologies: Sweet spot if you run an ecommerce store on Shopify or BigCommerce

- Website: coalitiontechnologies.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.80 based on 302 reviews
- Team Size: 305 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 143.6K
- Employee Review Score: 4.6 based on 122 reviews
Overview
This Los Angeles SEO company runs on measurement rather than instinct. Its founder built the firm that way and still pushes the analytical line.
You see it in what they publish. Hundreds of client case studies sit on their site, open for anyone to check. Ecommerce is the deep end for them, where search engines reward technical precision. Shopify and BigCommerce stores make up much of the portfolio.
They also work with names most agencies never touch. PayPal sits among their clients. Clutch has placed them on its global top search list for several years running.
That streak is hard to fake. Los Angeles apparel and direct-to-consumer brands sit squarely in their range. You get a large bench and a heavy process here.
Want a lean team and a small retainer? This will feel like more machine than you need.
Core Services
- Ecommerce SEO and lead generation search engine optimization
- AI search visibility and mobile SEO
- Web design and web development on Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and WordPress
- Pay per click and social media marketing management
- Conversion rate optimization and email marketing
Why They Rank #6
- 4.80 rating gives you a large, consistent sample to read through.
- 305 people on LinkedIn means specialists rather than generalists on your account.
- 6K monthly visits shows they compete for hard Los Angeles SEO terms themselves.
- 4.6 employee scores across 122 reviews is among the strongest staff signals on this list.
- A $50 hourly rate is the lowest in the top ten. Reviews suggest total project cost still runs high.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients praise the depth of the audits and the professionalism of the account teams. Traffic and revenue gains get named repeatedly. The recurring complaint is price. Several reviewers found the work strong but the invoices were higher than they had budgeted for.
Our Take
Best for Los Angeles ecommerce brands and lead-gen companies with real budgets who want technical depth. The platform expertise is the draw. Smaller businesses will likely find the pricing out of reach.
7. Funnel Boost Media: Hits the mark if you sell to one service area and live on phone calls

- Website: funnelboostmedia.net
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 based on 293 reviews
- Team Size: 47 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 14
- Monthly Website Visits: 8.8K
- Employee Review Score: 4.6 based on 11 reviews
Overview
Funnel Boost Media builds for the phone call, not the traffic chart. Lead volume is the number they chase, not positions in search engines.
Home services, dental practices, and law firms make up most of that work. One booked job can pay for the month.
Geography drives everything they do. Sherman Oaks and Culver City behave like separate markets here.
A digital marketing agency focused on one city still reaches nobody without that focus. They are a digital marketing agency specializing in tight service areas.
Few firms this size are a digital marketing agency specializing in one thing that well. That is the mistake this SEO agency is built to avoid.
The credentials are modest but real. Google lists them as a partner, and Forbes has named them among top rated firms.
This fits a service business with a defined service area. National brands chasing broad category terms should look elsewhere.
Core Services
- Local search optimization and Google Business Profile work
- Mobile SEO and Generative engine optimization for AI search visibility
- Conversion focused web design
- Pay per click campaign management
- Link building and content marketing for online visibility
Why They Rank #7
- 4.93 rating across 293 reviews is the third strongest score-and-volume pairing on this list.
- 47 people is small. That usually means the person you meet is the person doing the work.
- 8K monthly visits is the weakest organic traffic number in the top ten by a wide margin.
- 14 years in business shows they have held a client base without scale to fall back on.
- The 4.6 employee score comes from only 11 reviews. Treat that as directional, not settled.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Not being upsold comes up repeatedly, alongside first-page rankings and steady lead growth. Responsiveness gets named often. A few mention timelines slipping, and one client disputed the tactics used on their site.
Our Take
A good fit for Los Angeles home service, dental, and legal practices working a defined service area. The local focus is genuine. Ecommerce brands and national campaigns will get more from a specialist elsewhere.
8. Boostability: Your answer if budget drives the decision or you resell under your own brand

- Website: boostability.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.70 based on 130 reviews
- Team Size: 318 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 67.2K
- Employee Review Score: 3.4 based on 423 reviews
Overview
Boostability was built for the shops most agencies price out. Small firms that need to show up locally on a tight budget.
Much of the work never carries their name. Other agencies resell the SEO strategy under their own brand.
That model made them one of the largest white label SEO agency partners anywhere. They are open about using AI on the data side.
They are just as clear that people still run the work. Local SEO is the core skill.
Listings, on page fixes, and content aimed at buyers who ask search engines for a nearby option. This suits a small firm watching every dollar of its marketing strategy.
It also suits an agency that needs more hands. Hard technical problems will want a different partner.
Core Services
- Packaged search engine optimization for small firms
- White label SEO services for agencies
- Local search optimization, listings, and citation management
- Content creation and on page optimization
- Link building and reporting dashboards
Why They Rank #8
- 318 people support high volume delivery across many small accounts at once.
- 4.70 rating from 130 reviews is solid, though most of that feedback comes from agency partners.
- 2K monthly visits are mid-pack here, driven largely by their content marketing.
- A 3.4 employee score across 423 reviews is the second weakest staff signal on this list.
- A $50 hourly rate and a $1,000 entry point make them one of the most reachable options here.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Agency partners consistently credit affordability, clear reporting, and account managers who stay reachable. Direct clients are more divided. Several describe slow results and scope limits that left wider site problems unaddressed.
Our Take
Suited to small businesses in Los Angeles, California on modest budgets and to agencies needing white-label capacity. Expect steady, packaged local work. If your site has deeper technical issues, this scope will not reach them.
9. Scorpion: The right move if you push high volume and attribution matters more than price

- Website: scorpion.co
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.40 based on 65 reviews
- Team Size: 1,409 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 25
- Monthly Website Visits: 177.8K
- Employee Review Score: 3.7 based on 422 reviews
Overview
Scorpion sells software as much as digital marketing service. Its platform ties ad spend to paid invoices through your own system.
Law firms, home service companies, and healthcare groups are the core. Established operators buying digital marketing strategies at volume, not startups.
The company has grown partly by buying. Several agencies and a search software firm have been folded in.
Critics point at one gap. The model leans on traditional search engines, and AI visibility work has been slower to arrive. I would press them on that in a first call. It matters more each quarter.
Los Angeles legal and healthcare groups fit the model best, since their cost per client justifies the retainer. Pick them if you want attribution you can trust.
Ask about website ownership before you sign.
Core Services
- Local search optimization for regulated verticals
- Pay per click and Local Services Ads management
- Web design on their proprietary platform
- Revenue attribution and CRM integration
- Reputation and review management
Why They Rank #9
- 1,409 associated members is the second largest team in the top ten.
- 25 years in business covers the full arc from directory listings to AI search.
- 8K monthly visits reflects real online visibility in a crowded category.
- A4.40 rating sits on only 65 reviews. That is thin for a firm this size, so read them closely.
- 3.7 employee scores across 422 reviews suggests account continuity is worth asking about.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Law firms are the most vocal group in these reviews, citing reliable lead growth and clear reporting on return. Account service draws consistent praise across verticals. Concerns cluster around cost, long agreements, and the flexibility lost inside a proprietary platform.
Our Take
Built for established Los Angeles law firms, healthcare groups, and multi-location home service brands with real budget. Attribution is the strength. Smaller practices wanting flexibility should weigh the contract terms carefully first.
10. Digital Web Solutions: The play to make if you own the strategy and only the links are missing

- Website: digitalwebsolutions.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 based on 14 reviews
- Team Size: 601 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 21
- Monthly Website Visits: 41.5K
- Employee Review Score: 4.0 based on 140 reviews
Overview
Digital Web Solutions works mostly out of sight. Digital marketing agencies hire them, then put their own name on the output. Link building and digital PR are the specialty.
Content built to earn coverage, pitched straight to journalists. Search engines treat those placements as votes. The guarantee is the interesting part.
Placements land inside a fixed window, or the work keeps going. Partner agencies tend to stay. That retention is the clearest signal in a business built on outsourced delivery.
Los Angeles agencies use them to absorb overflow without hiring. You should treat them as a supplier, not a strategist. If you own the strategy and need links delivered, this fits. If you want someone to run your whole search program, this is not the right shape.
Core Services
- Link building and blogger outreach for search engine optimization
- Digital PR and journalist pitching
- White label SEO services for agencies
- Content writing and on page SEO
- Web design and web development
Why They Rank #10
- 601 people give them the delivery capacity that outsourced link work demands.
- 21 years in business is longer than most firms in this half of the list.
- 4.90 rating rests on just 14 reviews. That sample is too small to lean on hard.
- 5K monthly visits is modest for an SEO agency built on link building.
- A $25 hourly rate ties for the lowest in the top fifteen.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Knowing exactly where a link came from is the thing partners value most, along with delivery that holds to deadlines. Agency partners value being able to hand off fulfillment. The client sample is small, so weigh the rating with that in mind.
Our Take
Best for Los Angeles SEO agencies and in-house teams that own their strategy. You need links and press delivered. Treat them as a supplier. Businesses wanting a full search program should look higher up this list.
11. Dot Com Media: Aligned approach if you like the work explained as it happens

- Website: dcmmoguls.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 based on 33 reviews
- Team Size: 41 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 26
- Monthly Website Visits: 4.5K
- Employee Review Score: 5 based on 42 reviews
Overview
Dot Com Media has been at this for more than two decades. The internet marketing work started local and now runs nationwide.
Dental practices and law firms make up much of this Los Angeles SEO company’s client base. The owner operated shops, mostly, where the founder signs the checks and sets the business goals.
Their general manager stays close to accounts. That is unusual once a firm passes a certain size, and it shapes how the work feels.
Every month clients get a report walked through line by line. No dashboard link and a shrug. You learn what search engines actually did that month. One cleaning company saw its lead flow climb sharply after a pay per call push.
They have since started offering AI chat tools to existing clients. Los Angeles dental and legal clients make up the bulk of that base.
This suits an owner who wants to be talked through the work. If you already know the vocabulary, that hand holding may feel slow.
Core Services
- Organic search engine optimization and local search optimization
- Pay per call and lead generation campaigns
- Google Ads and paid search management
- Reputation management and review handling
- Web design and maintenance
Why They Rank #11
- 5.00 rating across 33 reviews is a clean record, though the sample is modest.
- 26 years in business is longer than most of the top ten can claim.
- 41 people gives you a real team without losing direct access to leadership.
- A perfect 5 employee score from 42 reviews is the strongest staff signal on this entire list.
- 5K monthly visits is low online visibility for an SEO company. Weigh that against a client record that has held for decades.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients repeatedly credit clear explanations, monthly reporting they can follow, and steady lead growth. Dental and legal clients are the most vocal. A few note that results took longer than expected on newer sites built for other platforms.
Our Take
A fit for Los Angeles dental practices and small law firms. You want the work explained as it happens. Reporting is the strength. Larger brands will find the scope and bench too limited.
12. Single Grain: Delivers your specific outcome if you carry a growth target and the budget behind it

- Website: singlegrain.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.80 based on 22 reviews
- Team Size: 65 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 66.3K
- Employee Review Score: 3.6 based on 61 reviews
Overview
Single Grain sells outcomes, not activity reports. Return on spend is the stated measure, not positions in search engines.
Venture backed growth companies are the natural client. Software firms and tech brands with money to deploy and pressure to show results.
Its founder built a large public following around the agency. Podcasts and events pull in a serious audience each month.
That reach does real work. It brings in clients the agency would never win through a pitch alone. The firm has repositioned around AI in the last few years. Delivery across channels now leans on it heavily.
Their Los Angeles clients skew toward funded software companies. You should come here with a defined growth target and budget to match.
Small local businesses will find this the wrong shape entirely.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization and content marketing strategy
- Paid media across search and social
- Conversion rate optimization
- Performance creative and analytics
- Marketing strategy consulting
Why They Rank #12
- 3K monthly visits is strong for a team of this size, driven by their own content marketing.
- 65 people means senior attention, but limited capacity if your scope grows fast.
- A $10,000 entry point is ten times the floor at most firms here. That alone rules them in or out for you.
- 4.80 rating sits on 22 reviews, which is thin for a firm this well known.
- A 3.6 employee score across 61 reviews is one of the weaker staff signals here. Ask who stays on your account.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers describe a partner that brings new angles unprompted and adapts fast when something stops working. Clients describe them as forward looking and willing to test. Some feedback points to cost and to results that arrived slower than the initial pitch implied.
Our Take
Best for Los Angeles software companies and funded startups with real budget and clear growth targets. The strategic thinking is genuine. Local service businesses will find both the pricing and the approach mismatched.
13. Social Media 55: Matches your priorities if you buy search alongside paid social and video

- Website: socialmedia55.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 based on 86 reviews
- Team Size: 52 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 2.9K
- Employee Review Score: 5 based on 18 reviews
Overview
Social Media 55 grew from one office into several across North America. That spreads the shapes of who they serve.
Mid sized brands buying digital marketing strategies are the sweet spot. Big enough to need real campaigns, small enough that one team can run everything.
SEO never travels alone at this Los Angeles SEO agency. Paid social, video, and display move with it on the same marketing strategy brief.
That mix suits buyers who cross county lines. Orange, Ventura, and San Bernardino all pull from the same metro pool. You get breadth rather than depth from a setup like this. If search is your only gap, a specialist will go further.
If you want one team steering several channels at once, this is a reasonable place to start.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization, local search optimization, and keyword research
- Social media management and paid social
- Ecommerce development
- Programmatic and streaming video advertising
- Web design and branding
Why They Rank #13
- 5.00 rating across 86 reviews is the strongest score-and-volume pairing in this batch.
- 52 people support multi-channel work without becoming an enterprise shop.
- A perfect 5 employee score from 18 reviews suggests a stable team, though the sample is small.
- 9K monthly visits is low. Their own online visibility does not match the client work they show.
- 12 years is among the shortest runs here. The review record does more work than the tenure.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Creative thinking is the recurring compliment, paired with a team reviewers say reads an audience well. Clients describe long working relationships. Search specifically draws less comment than the social and creative work does.
Our Take
Good for Los Angeles ecommerce and healthcare brands wanting search bundled with paid social and video. The multi-channel work is the draw. Pure search mandates will get more from a focused specialist.
14. Custom Creatives: Best process fit if you hire one small team for design and search

- Website: customcreatives.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 based on 13 reviews
- Team Size: 17 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 22
- Monthly Website Visits: 1.1K
- Employee Review Score: 4.6 based on 6 reviews
Overview
Custom Creatives has been building sites and running SEO campaigns since the early two thousands. Local service businesses and software firms make up much of the digital marketing work.
The entry point is a free website audit. You get a read on what search engines dislike before anyone asks for money.
Some of their capacity runs behind another SEO agency. They will act as a back end design team under someone else’s brand.
Directories list them for content marketing as well as search. That pairing tells you where their strength sits.
Los Angeles service businesses and small software firms make up most of that base. This fits a small business that wants design and search from one small team.
It also fits an agency needing quiet overflow help. Larger campaigns will outgrow this bench quickly.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization, local search optimization, and keyword research
- Web design and web development
- Content marketing and copywriting
- Graphic design and branding
- Pay per click management
Why They Rank #14
- 22 years in business puts them among the longest running firms on this list.
- The 4.90 rating comes from 13 reviews. Read all of them, since the sample is small.
- 17 people means one team on your account, with no depth behind it if someone leaves.
- 1K monthly visits is low for an SEO company selling online visibility. Ask them directly about that.
- 4.6 employee scores from 6 reviews is positive but too small a sample to lean on.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The word that recurs across these reviews is patient. Reviewers describe getting things explained rather than sold. The review count is small but consistent. Feedback centers on website builds more often than on ongoing search campaigns.
Our Take
Suited to Los Angeles small businesses needing a site and modest search support from one small team. The audit-first approach lowers risk. Competitive categories will need a deeper bench than this.
15. LAD Solutions: Aligns with your values if founder involvement matters more than agency scale

- Website: ladsolutions.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.80 based on 26 reviews
- Team Size: 34 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 0.4K
- Employee Review Score: 4.8 based on 10 reviews
Overview
LAD Solutions has a motto they repeat often. Under promise, over deliver.
That is the whole SEO strategy pitch. That sounds like a slogan until you look at how they sell. One time consultations sit alongside the retainers. You can pay for a single expert opinion on your search engine rankings and walk away.
Very few firms on this list will sell an SEO strategy that way. Clinics, home service companies, and small online stores make up this Los Angeles SEO agency’s client base.
Small operators, mostly, with one location, a tight budget, and simple business goals. The SEO experts here work directly on those accounts.
Some of those relationships run long. One small retailer stayed on for years and doubled its sales over that stretch.
Los Angeles clinics and contractors make up most of their work. This fits a small business that wants steady, affordable search work.
If you need scale or speed, the bench here is thin.
Core Services
- Search engine optimization, local search optimization, and keyword research
- Google penalty recovery
- Pay per click and Google Ads management
- Web design and web development
- Reputation management and social media marketing
Why They Rank #15
- A 4.80 rating across 26 reviews gives you more to read than most firms at this size.
- 34 people is small but real. You will not be handed to a junior and forgotten.
- 17 years in business is longer than several firms ranked above them.
- 4.8 employee scores from 10 reviews is strong, though the sample stays small.
- 4K monthly visits is the lowest online visibility figure in the top fifteen. Ask them about it directly.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
A founder working directly on accounts is what reviewers mention first, alongside fair pricing and real technical depth. Website builds draw particular praise. One reviewer described communication gaps and timeline problems, so ask how your account will be staffed.
Our Take
A fit for Los Angeles clinics, contractors, and small online stores wanting affordable search work with founder involvement. Penalty recovery is a real niche. Larger or faster-moving campaigns will outgrow this team.
Disclosure: Our recommendations include both locally headquartered agencies and offshore firms that provide services in this region. Some agencies featured do not maintain a physical office here but have an established track record of delivering services to clients in the area.
How to Choose an SEO Company in Los Angeles?
Six things separate a good Los Angeles SEO company from an expensive lesson. Work through them in order. None of this takes long. Most of it happens before you sit through a digital marketing pitch.
1. Look at the work, not the logo wall
Ask any top digital marketing agency for three campaigns they ran in the last twelve months. Client logos prove someone signed a digital marketing contract.
Organic traffic and revenue charts prove the work landed. Ask how they plan to boost online visibility, not just rankings. If their own web design and UI/UX design look dated, their digital presence tells you something too.
2. Make them explain the price
Marketing is the first line California owners cut when rent and payroll climb. So a vague retainer is a real risk for your marketing strategy here.
Ask what the fee buys each month, in hours or SEO services offered. A website cost calculator will show you the market range before you call.
3. Test their SEO depth on the spot
Los Angeles SEO experts know people here search by neighborhood or say near me. They rarely type the city name. Ask how that changes keyword research and keyword optimization for your business. Ask which keyword research tools they actually run.
Push them for a customized SEO strategy, not a checklist. Real Los Angeles SEO experts answer in specifics, not in slides. Data driven SEO strategies leave a trail you can check.
4. Find out who you actually talk to
Plenty of buyers in Los Angeles have no marketing staff at all. You are the marketing strategy department. So ask who answers when something breaks on a Friday. A named person beats a support inbox every time. Your digital presence is too important for a queue.
5. Check that they can grow with you
One location today can mean nine next year, and business growth breaks weak setups first. Ask how they build location pages and quality links at that size. Chasing quality backlinks without that structure just burns the budget.
A scalable SEO strategy matters more than a slick pitch. Software companies should push harder and ask about SaaS SEO and SaaS link building specifically.
6. Look for real local market knowledge
Los Angeles County holds 88 incorporated cities. Someone who says Los Angeles usually means one small slice of it.
Ask which parts of Los Angeles, California they have worked in, and how they win local customers there. A vague answer means they are selling a template, not an SEO agency relationship.
Common Mistakes to Avoid When Hiring a Los Angeles SEO Company
I have watched all seven of these cost real money in Los Angeles. None of them look like mistakes while you are making them.
1. The cheapest quote
Most firms in this county employ fewer than twenty people. Budgets are tight, so the cheapest internet marketing agency feels responsible. It rarely is.
Genuinely budget-friendly SEO agencies exist, and they are not the ones at the bottom of the quote pile. A cheap retainer buys a junior with a checklist. You pay twice when someone has to undo the work, and your digital presence stalls meanwhile.
2. SEO treated as a backup for ads
Clicks in law, dental, and real estate cost more in Los Angeles than almost anywhere. Owners often start with ads. Then they look at search engines once the bill hurts.
Higher search engine rankings cost less to hold than clicks do. Run both from day one. Organic traffic gets cheaper over time. Search engine marketing never does.
3. A portfolio judged on looks
Los Angeles makes beautiful sites that cannot rank in search engines. Heavy scripts and slow loads hide behind good art direction. Mobile SEO fails first when that happens. Open their client sites on a weak connection. If the pretty ones crawl, search engines never see the foundation.
4. Reviews read too fast
Read the three star reviews first. That is where you learn what goes wrong before search engine results turn against you.
Cross check Yelp against Google, the way LA buyers do. A hubpage of top-rated SEO agencies lets you compare each Los Angeles SEO company side by side.
5. Maps left out of the plan
People in Los Angeles search while they drive. Maps get the click before search engine results pages do.
Ask how the agency handles map results, the way strong local SEO agencies do, rather than only blue links. A report with no map data misses where your buyers are.
6. Listings that drift out of sync
Multi location brands end up with an old phone number in one place. Search engines read that gap as doubt, and your search engine rankings pay for it.
Audit every listing before you sign. Getting your business online consistently builds domain authority over time. Then make listing hygiene part of the monthly marketing strategy scope.
7. Results expected by month two
SEO needs six to twelve months in a local market this crowded. Buyers here also research for weeks before they fill in a form. So judge early SEO efforts on search rankings and qualified traffic. Check keyword rankings monthly instead of waiting on revenue.
Search engines move slowly by design. Cancel at month three and you paid for setup with no measurable business growth.
Final Thoughts
Use this list of Los Angeles SEO services as a filter, not a verdict. No internet marketing agency fits every business on it. Start with three or four Los Angeles SEO firms whose digital marketing strategies fit your budget and your trade.
Then ask each one the same questions about your business goals. Compare the answers side by side rather than one pitch at a time.
Ask for recent work in your industry. Ask who answers when something breaks. Ask what the retainer buys each month.
One thing is worth watching. AI search visibility is still early in Los Angeles, California, and few SEO experts here have a real offer yet.
So ask every firm on your shortlist how they plan to handle it. The ones with a real answer today are the ones worth calling in two years. Search engines will look different by then.
Methodology of Our Study
Why This Ranking Is Different
Most Los Angeles SEO agency lists are built on opinion or paid placement. Ours ranks the best SEO services on evidence. No SEO agency paid to appear here, and none knew it was being scored. Every agency ran through the same framework.
Same sources, same weights, and the same math for every digital marketing agency, from first place to fiftieth. The process had to be clear and fair. Data drove all of it.
Where Your Data Comes From
Transparency starts with naming every source we touch.
Traffic figures came from SEMrush, which we used as a proxy for how much online visibility each firm has earned on its own terms. Client ratings and review counts were pulled from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Google Business Profile, and Trustpilot.
Employee ratings and review volume came from Glassdoor and Indeed, which tell you more about account stability than any sales deck will.
Team size was estimated from associated members on LinkedIn. Agency websites confirmed the rest: years in business, whether search engine optimization is a core service, hourly rates, and minimum project costs.
We also read service pages, case studies, and public client examples. That work showed how deep each firm goes on search engine optimization.
Raw numbers alone cannot tell you that. Neither can search engines. Every figure in this guide traces back to one of those sources.
The Five Dimensions That Shape Your Rankings
Each agency was scored across five areas. Every metric in our review carried a set weight. Four categories add points. The two pricing metrics apply modest deductions.
Service Focus & Value Assessment (20%)
This category asks two things. Is search engine optimization a core service here, and do clients feel the price was fair?
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
|---|---|---|
| SEO Focus | 10% | SEO appeared as a core agency service |
| Client Rating for Cost | 10% | Average cost rating from review platforms |
A high score means search engine optimization sits at the center of the business. Not in a footer menu. Clients also rated the value of the SEO services offered as strong.
A low score often points to a generalist agency where search engine optimization is a side offer. Search optimization is one line item among many there.
Value matters more than sticker price. A firm charging more can still score well here. It happens when clients say the return justified the fee.
Brand Authority (45%)
This is the heaviest category. It measures whether an agency can prove its own online visibility, staffing, and staying power.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
|---|---|---|
| Website Traffic | 20% | Higher SEMrush traffic suggested stronger online visibility |
| LinkedIn Team Size | 15% | Larger teams suggested stronger delivery capacity |
| Years in Business | 10% | Longer histories showed greater experience and stability |
Traffic from search engines carries the most weight for a reason. An SEO company that cannot rank its own site in search engines has not shown the skill. Team size then tells you whether the work can be delivered once it is sold.
Years in business rounds it out. A long history does not promise quality. It does mean the firm survived several changes to search engine guidelines and a recession.
Client Satisfaction (30%)
This category looks at what clients said, and how many of them said it.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
|---|---|---|
| Average Client Rating | 15% | Combined ratings from selected review platforms |
| Total Client Reviews | 15% | More reviews provided stronger proof of consistency |
Both metrics carry equal weight on purpose. A perfect five from seven clients is thinner proof than a 4.8 from three hundred.
High volume shows the result repeats across many accounts. Watch this pair together when you read the profiles. Search engines are not the only signal that matters.
The gap between them explains several ranks on this list.
Employee Satisfaction (25%)
Staff ratings predict your account experience better than most digital marketing buyers expect.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
|---|---|---|
| Average Employee Rating | 10% | Average rating from Glassdoor and Indeed |
| Number of Employee Reviews | 15% | More reviews reduced the effect of small samples |
Review volume outweighs the rating here. One glowing review from a two person shop proves very little. Dozens of reviews start to describe a real culture.
Churn is why this matters to you. When account managers leave every few months, your campaign restarts with them.
Cost Accessibility Adjustment (-20%)
This category subtracts rather than adds. It stops an expensive SEO agency from winning on budget alone.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly Rate | -10% | Higher hourly rates received larger deductions |
| Minimum Project Cost | -10% | Higher entry costs reduced accessibility scores |
Hourly rate and entry price each pull the score down as they climb. A high rate is not a flaw by itself. Plenty of costly firms still ranked well.
The deduction only means they had to earn the spot elsewhere.Entry cost decides who can even start. A five figure minimum shuts out most small business SEO buyers in Los Angeles. Other scores cannot fix that.
How the Final Score Works
We normalized every metric before weighting it. Raw numbers sit on very different scales. A team of five and a team of five thousand need that step to compare at all.
Each normalized value was then multiplied by its weight and added up. Cost deductions came off last. The result is a single score out of 100.
This lets a boutique digital agency and a national firm sit on the same table fairly. No single metric decides the final order. Weakness in one area can be offset by strength in another. That is how a real hiring decision works.
