Utah’s tech corridor has become one of the densest software hubs around. Every one of those companies needs a website that converts.
Web design agencies in Utah have grown to meet that demand. On paper, that’s good news. In practice, it’s the opposite problem.
Search for one and you get pages of similar-looking firms: modern, custom, results-driven. Nothing on that page tells you who’s actually right for your project.
That gap matters. Utah’s small businesses compete hard for the same local searches. A slow or generic site gets buried fast.
Ninety percent of users leave a poorly designed website before it even finishes loading. The agency you hire decides whether your traffic becomes customers or bounces right back out.
I scored 48 Utah web design agencies on the same scale. The research pulled data from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, and SEMrush.
Below is the ranked list, built from that research, not a sales pitch. Let’s get into it.

Deep Dive: Full Agency Reviews
The research behind every rank, agency by agency.
1. Brainvire Infotech Inc — The Pick for Enterprise-Scale eCommerce Builds

- Website: brainvire.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $25,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.65 (285 reviews)
- Team Size: 912 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 26
- Monthly Website Visits: 10,109
- Employee Review Score: 3.45 (361 reviews)
Overview
Walt Disney, Krispy Kreme, Fossil, and Southwest Airlines have all hired this team for eCommerce work. The builds run on Magento, Shopify, or Adobe Commerce, depending on the client.
That’s not the kind of client list you’d expect from a typical local web design shop. Chintan Shah leads the agency, and the software-engineering roots show up everywhere in how projects get built.
The team also builds and sells its own software, including a CRM and an ERP platform. I don’t see many web design picks operating at that level of in-house engineering. It signals real depth behind the design work, not just a pretty front end.
Brainvire has made the Inc. 5000 list several years running. The company recently opened a new office in Singapore to keep pace with demand.
If your project is small or your timeline is tight, though, this isn’t the right fit. Brainvire is built for complex, high-budget builds, not quick launches.
Core Services
- Custom eCommerce Web Design (Magento, Shopify, Adobe Commerce)
- Enterprise Digital Transformation Strategy
- Custom Software & CRM/ERP Development
- Mobile App Development (iOS & Android)
- Cloud & AI Integration Services
Why They Rank
- With 912 people on the team, Brainvire can run several large builds in parallel, more capacity than most other agencies on this list.
- Web design makes up just 10% of Brainvire’s overall business, so you’re hiring a specialist eCommerce and software team that also builds sites, not a web design shop first.
- The $25,000 minimum project cost sits well above the rest of this list, which tracks with the enterprise scope of Brainvire’s typical work.
- At 3.45 out of 5 across 361 employee reviews, staff satisfaction runs lower than most other agencies here, worth weighing if long-term account continuity matters to you.
- 26 years in business is among the longest track records on this list, which shows up in how many platforms and industries the team has already handled.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Time zone gaps show up more than once in the reviews, usually as a delay rather than a dealbreaker. What keeps coming up is the technical range: Magento, Shopify, and custom ERP work, all handled by the same team without missing a step.
Our Take
This is the pick if you’re running a serious eCommerce operation and need a team that can also build the backend systems around it. Skip it if you just want a five-page brochure site fast; Brainvire’s process and price point aren’t built for that.
2. SmartSites — Best if You Want Web Design Bundled With Paid Ads and SEO

- Website: smartsites.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.74 (1,713 reviews)
- Team Size: 306 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 15
- Monthly Website Visits: 18,659
- Employee Review Score: 4.40 (111 reviews)
Overview
Alex and Michael Melen run SmartSites together. The brothers built the agency from a small founding team into one of this list’s larger shops.
Michael sold his first internet company as a teenager, well before SmartSites existed. The entrepreneurial instinct predates the agency itself.
The client list includes small businesses like Hammond Design Build, City Rug Wash Care, and Marchex. I’d call that real proof, not just recognizable brand names.
Review volume backs that up too. SmartSites has piled up thousands of five-star reviews, which is unusual for an agency this size.
A team this size can staff web design, PPC, and SEO with separate specialists. Nobody’s juggling all three alone.
That works well if you want everything under one roof and don’t mind a bigger agency. If you’d rather work with a small, hands-on team, look further down this list instead.
Core Services
- Conversion-Focused Web Design
- Technical & Local SEO
- Pay-Per-Click Advertising (Google, Meta)
- Social Media Marketing
- Email Marketing
Why They Rank
- A $1,000 minimum project cost makes SmartSites one of the more accessible picks here, especially next to the enterprise-focused agencies at the top of this list.
- The 4.74 client rating carries real weight because it’s backed by 1,713 reviews, far more volume than most agencies on this list.
- Web design accounts for just 10% of SmartSites’ business, so you’re getting a paid-media and SEO powerhouse that also does design work, not a design-first shop.
- Staff reviews average 4.40, one of the stronger employee scores in this batch, which tracks with a team that’s held onto its culture through real growth.
- What keeps SmartSites at #2 instead of #1 comes down to scale: Brainvire’s team size and years in business score higher, even though SmartSites leads on client rating and minimum project cost.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Responsiveness is the word that comes up again and again: quick replies, regular updates, account managers clients know by name. The one soft spot: a handful of reviewers want a more aggressive SEO plan to match how strong the PPC side performs.
Our Take
Go with SmartSites if you want web design, paid ads, and SEO run by one accountable team instead of three vendors pointing fingers at each other. Skip it if your SEO needs are the priority; that side reportedly trails their PPC work.
3. Digital Silk — Built for Brand-Led, Multi-Platform eCommerce Work

- Website: digitalsilk.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.12 (122 reviews)
- Team Size: 330 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 58,636
- Employee Review Score: 3.40 (100 reviews)
Overview
Digital Silk works across Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, and custom builds. UX strategy and conversion optimization usually layer on top of the design work.
That range shows up in recent projects. A law firm, a packaging company, and an insurtech platform all moved through the same team this year. Each project needed a different kind of build. I like seeing that kind of range handled by one team.
Earlier this year, the agency added dedicated PR campaign management to its service list. That sits on top of design and marketing work it already does.
That’s a good sign if you want brand strategy, web design, and earned media handled under one roof. If you’re after a small, boutique feel instead, look elsewhere on this list.
Core Services
- Custom Web Design & Development
- Branding & Visual Identity
- eCommerce Development (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce)
- Conversion Rate Optimization
- Digital Marketing & PR Campaign Management
Why They Rank
- Half of Digital Silk’s business is web design, the highest focus percentage of any agency in this batch, which is why it ranks where it does despite a shorter track record.
- Monthly traffic sits at 58,636 visits, well ahead of the other agencies profiled so far, a real signal of brand reach.
- At 7 years, Digital Silk has the shortest operating history in this batch, which is the main thing holding it below Brainvire and SmartSites.
- The 4.12 client rating and 3.40 employee score are both the lowest of the agencies covered so far, worth knowing going in even though the work itself gets solid marks.
- A $10,000 minimum keeps this agency out of reach for the smallest projects, in line with the brand-level work it typically takes on.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Most reviews praise the branding work and how closely the team collaborates. But the range is wider here than most agencies on this list. One detailed account describes real quality-control problems on a longer engagement, including a high bug rate and billing mix-ups. Worth a closer look before signing.
Our Take
A good match if you want brand-forward design and don’t mind paying enterprise-adjacent rates for it. Think twice if your project is small or timeline-sensitive; the mixed reviews on quality control suggest closer oversight pays off here.
4. ZipLocal — Made for Small, Local Businesses on a Tight Budget

- Website: ziplocal.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.60 (127 reviews)
- Team Size: 232 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 55
- Monthly Website Visits: 182
- Employee Review Score: 3.60 (158 reviews)
Overview
ZipLocal didn’t start as a web design company. It began as a print directory business, the kind that put local businesses in the Yellow Pages. It pivoted into digital services later on.
That print-to-digital history still shapes how the agency operates. If patience matters more to you than cutting-edge design, that’s a plus.
It stays relationship-driven and patient with small business owners who move slower. Long-term contracts matter more here than one-off projects.
Stephanie Colfack runs the company now. The client base has grown to include thousands of small businesses across the country. I don’t see many web design picks with that kind of scale in the small-business segment specifically.
ZipLocal covers a huge range of markets nationwide, not just Utah. That’s a different profile than most agencies here, which tend to serve one city or region closely.
If you expected a boutique local shop, this isn’t quite that. ZipLocal operates more like a nationwide small-business platform, with deep experience serving markets like this one.
Core Services
- Website Design & Development
- Local SEO
- Google Business Profile & Listings Management
- Reviews Management
- Social Media Management
Why They Rank
- At $1,000 minimum and $25 an hour, ZipLocal is one of the most accessible picks on this list for a tight budget.
- 55 years in business is the longest track record in this batch by a wide margin, which explains the deep bench of small-business case studies behind the work.
- Monthly website traffic sits at just 182 visits, the lowest figure among the agencies covered so far, worth asking about directly before you sign.
- Web design makes up 40% of ZipLocal’s business, a meaningful chunk but still behind Digital Silk’s, which is part of why it ranks below that agency.
- 127 client reviews averaging 4.60 is solid, but it’s a smaller review pool than SmartSites or Brainvire carry, so the confidence behind that number is a bit thinner.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Patience is the theme running through nearly every review: a dedicated rep, no call center hand-offs, clients who’ve stuck around for years. A smaller slice mentions slower turnaround once a request gets more design-heavy than routine maintenance.
Our Take
Solid pick if you’re a small, budget-conscious business that wants one steady contact handling your site, listings, and reviews together. Look elsewhere if you need fast, visually ambitious design work; that’s not where this agency’s strength sits.
5. ForeFront Web — Everything Handled In-House, No Subcontractors

- Website: forefrontweb.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (73 reviews)
- Team Size: 13 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 25
- Monthly Website Visits: 7,216
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (3 reviews)
Overview
Scott Kasun quit a full-time job to start this agency. In the early years, he built sites as a subcontractor for bigger local agencies needing extra hands. That trial-by-fire period is part of why the team still handles the harder technical work in-house.
Nothing gets subcontracted, not the writing, not the development, not local SEO. That’s a deliberate choice, not a budget constraint, and it’s been held since the agency’s earliest days.
Scott Kasun, the founder, spent decades in sales and marketing before he ever touched a website. That background shows how commercially minded the strategy work is.
Clients tend to stay far longer than the industry average. I take that as a better signal than any single testimonial.
The agency also picked up a national digital-marketing recognition earlier this year. It holds a Google Premier Partner badge too, a distinction reserved for a small slice of agencies.
You might expect a long-running agency like this to feel slow-moving or set in its ways. This one doesn’t read that way in its reviews or its output. It’s small, but it moves fast.
Core Services
- Web Design & Development
- Search Engine Optimization
- Paid Search (PPC)
- Content Marketing
- Social Media Strategy
Why They Rank
- A perfect 5.00 cost-value rating is tied for the highest in this batch, which lines up with reviewers who specifically call out budget-friendly solutions.
- The 4.93 client rating is the strongest of the agencies covered so far, though it’s built on a smaller review pool than SmartSites or Brainvire carry.
- At 13 people, this is the smallest team in this batch by a wide margin, which caps how many projects it can run at once. That’s the main thing keeping it below the larger agencies above it on this list.
- The employee rating shows a perfect 5.00, but it’s based on just 3 reviews, too small a sample to read as a firm signal either way.
- A $5,000 minimum project cost sits right in the middle of this batch, between ZipLocal’s budget end and Digital Silk’s higher floor.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The reviews read almost suspiciously clean: patient staff, on-time delivery, clients who name specific team members by name. I looked for a recurring complaint and didn’t find one, which is rare at this review volume.
Our Take
A strong fit if you want a small, hands-on team that keeps everything in-house and sticks around for the long haul. Not the move if you need a large team handling multiple big builds at once; the headcount here just isn’t built for that.
6. Designli — Guaranteed-Outcome MVP Builds for Non-Technical Founders

- Website: designli.co
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.98 (276 reviews)
- Team Size: 87 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 6,547
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (1 review)
Overview
Designli didn’t start from scratch. It grew out of an earlier venture called Applits, a platform for crowdsourcing app ideas. That history still shapes the process: strategy and product thinking come before pixels.
Keith Shields runs the agency, and its signature offer is a program called TractionLab. New founders get a working product with a real user attached within a set window. If that doesn’t happen, the next month is free.
I don’t see many web design picks that talk specifically about guaranteed outcomes rather than deliverables.
Non-technical founders seem to be the crowd Designli knows best. The agency just added a new service for a very current problem. Founders use AI tools to build a first version, then hit a wall. They need real engineers to take it further.
This is a fit if you’re a founder who needs a technical team, not a design vendor. If you already have engineers and just need a fresh interface, this agency’s probably overkill.
Core Services
- Custom Web & Mobile App Development
- MVP & Product Strategy (TractionLab)
- UX/UI Design
- Custom Software Development
- Startup Technical Advisory
Why They Rank
- A 4.98 client rating is among the highest of any agency on this list, backed by 276 reviews, a real sample size behind that number.
- Web design makes up just 10% of Designli’s business, so you’re hiring a software-development shop that also does design, not the reverse.
- The $10,000 minimum project cost is one of the things working against Designli here, along with team size, which keeps it behind the larger agencies ranked above it.
- The employee rating shows a perfect 5.00, but that’s from a single review, nowhere near enough to treat as a real signal.
- At $50 an hour, Designli’s rate sits in the middle of this list, not the cheapest option but well below the enterprise end.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
One review after another mentions speed: features shipped every couple weeks, bugs rare enough to be notable when they show up. If there’s a gap, it’s polish on non-technical explanations, a couple of reviewers wanted things spelled out in plainer terms.
Our Take
Strong fit if you’re a non-technical founder who needs an actual working product, not just mockups. Less ideal if you already have in-house engineers; you’d likely be paying for expertise you don’t need.
7. Funnel Boost Media — Local SEO and Lead Gen Built Into Every Site

- Website: funnelboostmedia.net
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.66 (444 reviews)
- Team Size: 46 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 15
- Monthly Website Visits: 2,383
- Employee Review Score: 4.60 (6 reviews)
Overview
This agency started with one veteran founder and grew into a full team built around local lead generation. SEO, PPC, and conversion-focused web design all point toward the same goal. More calls, more customers, for whoever hires them.
The agency has picked up recognition from Forbes, Clutch, UpCity, MarketWatch, and USA Today over the years. I don’t see many local shops chasing recognition like that. Its service list also includes GEO now, tuning a site so AI platforms surface it, not just Google.
One medical practice saw website traffic jump more than half within the first month of working together. That kind of quick, visible result is common in the reviews.
What’s less common here is deep, custom design work. If you want something visually distinctive, this agency is more functional than artistic.
Core Services
- Conversion-Focused Web Design
- Local & Generative Engine SEO (GEO)
- Pay-Per-Click Advertising
- Search Engine Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
Why They Rank
- Web design accounts for just 10% of the business, so SEO and paid media are really what you’re hiring this team for.
- A $1,000 minimum project cost puts Funnel Boost Media among the most accessible picks here, well below the agencies ranked just above it.
- 444 client reviews is one of the largest review pools on this list, and the 4.66 average holds up across that volume.
- Staff reviews average 4.60, but that’s built on just 6 reviews, a small enough sample to take with some caution.
- Traffic of 2,383 monthly visits is modest next to the agencies ranked above it, part of why it sits at #7 despite strong review numbers.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Professionalism shows up in nearly every review, alongside measurable jumps in traffic and rankings that clients can point to directly. A few mention wanting tighter proofreading on copy, a small thing the team reportedly fixed once flagged.
Our Take
A solid choice if lead generation matters more to you than cutting-edge visual design. If your priority is a portfolio-worthy, design-forward site, look toward the more design-focused agencies on this list instead.
8. Big Red Jelly — Branding, Web Design, and Marketing as One Process

- Website: bigredjelly.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.65 (573 reviews)
- Team Size: 46 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 9
- Monthly Website Visits: 2,846
- Employee Review Score: 4.65 (81 reviews)
Overview
Three brothers, Josh, Zach, and Ben Webber, started this agency with a single client. The team has grown a lot since then, but the core idea never changed. Brand, build, and grow, all under one roof.
Big Red Jelly has picked up more than a hundred industry awards along the way. It also holds a spot on Inc.’s Rocky Mountain regional ranking.
This year, the agency rolled out a new operating model called The BRJ Way. It folds brand, web, and marketing into one unit per client. Before, those were separate handoffs between teams.
One recurring client, a youth sports tournament organizer, sees a traffic bump every time the site gets refreshed. I like that Big Red Jelly still takes on niche projects like that, not just big-budget rebrands.
A few reviewers do mention things falling through the cracks on follow-up. Stay on top of your own punch list, just in case.
Core Services
- Web Design & Development
- Brand Identity & Strategy
- Digital Marketing
- Social Media Management
- Video & Photography Production
Why They Rank
- 573 client reviews is the largest review pool of any agency covered so far, and a 4.65 average across that many carries real weight.
- At $150 an hour, Big Red Jelly has the highest hourly rate on this list so far, even though its minimum project cost stays low at $1,000.
- Nine years in business is on the shorter end of this list, one reason it sits behind agencies with longer track records.
- Staff reviews average 4.65 across 81 responses, a solid, well-supported number, one of the stronger employee scores covered so far.
- Web design is 20% of the business here, double Designli’s or Funnel Boost’s share, which tracks with a more design-forward brand.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients keep coming back to the weekly meetings and how receptive the team is to feedback in real time. Communication lapses show up often enough across reviews to call a real pattern, not just a one-off complaint.
Our Take
Good pick if you want branding and web design handled together under one creative process. Push for a single point of contact if you go this route; that’s where the occasional follow-up gaps seem to happen.
9. UPQODE — Custom WordPress and Shopify Builds With SEO Baked In

- Website: upqode.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (148 reviews)
- Team Size: 48 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 4,857
- Employee Review Score: 4.80 (4 reviews)
Overview
UPQODE runs its strategy and project management from the US, but the engineering team is based in Europe. That structure is deliberate.
It pairs US communication and accountability with deep technical bench strength, minus the risks of pure outsourcing.
One client, Eyewris, launched a Shopify site built by this team. That product later won several international design awards, including a Red Dot. I don’t see that kind of downstream result attached to many web design picks on this list.
UPQODE has landed on a global top-100 web designer list. It’s also racked up dozens of industry awards along the way. The client base spans several continents, not just US businesses.
You might expect a US-based shop like this to feel purely local. This one reads more like an internationally staffed studio with a US front door.
Core Services
- Custom WordPress Development
- Shopify & Webflow Design
- Search Engine Optimization
- Quality Assurance Testing
- Website Maintenance
Why They Rank
- A 4.93 client rating is one of the strongest on this list, just behind Designli’s, though built on a smaller review pool.
- Web design makes up 40% of UPQODE’s business, among the highest focus percentage of any agency in this batch.
- Team size and years in business both trail the agencies ranked above it, which is the main thing keeping UPQODE at #9.
- Employee rating shows 4.80, but that’s from just 4 reviews, too small to lean on heavily.
- A $5,000 minimum project cost sits mid-pack on this list, above the budget end but well below the enterprise agencies.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Attention to detail is the throughline: clients single out quality control and finished sites that exceed the original brief. Time zone gaps with the engineering side come up occasionally, usually described as a minor scheduling hiccup rather than a dealbreaker.
Our Take
A strong option if you want WordPress or Shopify work with real quality control behind it. Build in a little schedule buffer if timing is tight; the distributed team structure can add a day or two here and there.
10. OGMA Conceptions — Full-Stack Web and App Development on a Budget

- Website: ogmaconceptions.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.30 (82 reviews)
- Team Size: 48 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 1
- Employee Review Score: 4.20 (50 reviews)
Overview
Four friends started this agency together, not one founder with a vision. That collaborative structure grew into a sizable team handling web design, app development, and custom software work.
The technical range runs wide: AngularJS, React, Node.js, plus AI and blockchain work alongside standard web design.
Most client relationships come through overseas outsourcing partnerships rather than local referrals. That shapes how the agency communicates and prices its work.
OGMA picked up a national small-business award a few years back, alongside steady, if modest, praise online. A few reviewers describe multi-year relationships, including one that’s stretched on for years.
I’d point this one toward a budget-conscious client who wants broad technical range and doesn’t need constant hand-holding.
Core Services
- Website Design & Development
- Mobile App Development
- Custom Software & ERP/CRM
- Digital Marketing
- AI & Blockchain Development
Why They Rank
- At $25 an hour and a $1,000 minimum, OGMA Conceptions is the among the lowest advertised rates in this batch by a wide margin.
- Monthly website traffic is essentially untracked at this scale, the lowest figure of any agency covered so far, worth asking about directly.
- The 4.30 client rating is the lowest in this batch, though still solidly positive across 82 reviews.
- Cost-value rating comes in at 4.50, the lowest of this batch too, part of why OGMA sits at #10 despite a long operating history.
- 13 years in business is a longer track record than several agencies ranked above it, so cost and traffic, not tenure, are what’s holding position here.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviews here are thinner than most agencies on this list, but what’s there points in the same direction: prompt fixes, technical range across frameworks, and a couple of clients who’ve stuck around for years running.
Our Take
Worth a look if budget is the deciding factor and you’re comfortable with a smaller review footprint as the tradeoff. Not the pick if you want a large local case-study portfolio to point to; that evidence just isn’t as built out yet.
11. Avalaunch Media — Enterprise-Level Marketing With a Roster of Recognizable Brands

- Website: avalaunchmedia.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.85 (122 reviews)
- Team Size: 62 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 21
- Monthly Website Visits: 5,478
- Employee Review Score: 4.05 (83 reviews)
Overview
This agency’s client list reads like a shortlist of household names. Coca-Cola, Nu Skin, Blendtec, GoPro, Intuit, Ancestry.com, and Groupon have all run campaigns through this team. That’s a different tier of client than most agencies on this list work with.
The agency was acquired by a larger holding group last year, after two decades running independently. It still holds Google Premier Partner status and has landed on the Inc. 5000 more than once.
The team runs its own internal peer-recognition award, and a design lead picked it up recently. I like seeing that kind of internal culture signal alongside the client roster.
Some reviewers do say design work occasionally missed the mark on a first pass. The team was quick to revise when that happened.
Core Services
- Digital Marketing Strategy
- SEO & PPC
- Web Design & Development
- Content Marketing & Video Production
- Branding
Why They Rank
- A 4.85 client rating across 122 reviews holds up well, especially given the scale of the campaigns this team runs.
- At $150 an hour, Avalaunch Media charges among the highest rates on this list, which tracks with the size of the brands it typically works with.
- 62 people on the team is a meaningful jump from the smaller shops ranked just below it, though still well short of the largest agencies at the top of this list.
- The employee rating sits at 4.05, the softer end of this batch, worth a quick look if you’re weighing culture alongside creative output.
- 21 years in business is a long run, but traffic, team size, and rate all land mid-pack rather than at the top, which is what keeps Avalaunch Media at #11.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Proactive communication and hitting deadlines come up constantly, the kind of consistency you’d expect from a team with this much enterprise experience. The recurring critique is initial design concepts sometimes needing a round or two of revision before they land.
Our Take
Worth a serious look if you want an agency used to handling recognizable brands and bigger budgets. Less ideal if you’re a small local business; the pricing and scale here are built for a different kind of client.
12. DD.NYC® — Award-Winning Branding and Web Design for High-Profile Clients

- Website: dd.nyc
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (197 reviews)
- Team Size: 39 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 11
- Monthly Website Visits: 5,490
- Employee Review Score: 4.20 (16 reviews)
Overview
This agency started as a small studio and grew into a name recognized well beyond New York. The client list backs that up.
The official FIFA World Cup NYNJ website came out of this team. So did work for Forbes, Scholastic, Match Group, and DIAGEO.
The agency is women-owned and certified as such in New York and nationally. It just hit its ten-year mark, and that same year landed its first spot on the Inc. 5000. Good timing, and probably not a coincidence.
You might expect a NYC agency this size to price out small businesses fast. It happens, but the client list also includes plenty of growing brands, not just Fortune 500 names. Worth asking directly what a smaller-scope project would actually cost.
Core Services
- Web Design & Development
- Branding & Visual Identity
- UI/UX Design
- App Development
- Packaging & Video Design
Why They Rank
- Half of DD.NYC’s business is web design, tied with Digital Silk for the highest focus of any agency on this list.
- A 4.93 client rating across 197 reviews is among the strongest combinations on this list, rating and volume both holding up together.
- The $10,000 minimum project cost rules out small budgets, which lines up with a client list built around bigger, name-brand engagements.
- Team size and years in business both trail the agencies ranked above it. That gap, not the work itself, is why DD.NYC sits at #12.
- The employee rating of 4.20 comes from just 16 reviews, a thinner sample than most of the ratings above it on this list.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Creativity paired with technical follow-through is the most common praise, clients specifically noting the team blends both well. Scope changes and project-management hiccups surface in a handful of reviews, though rarely as a dealbreaker.
Our Take
A strong pick if creative, brand-forward work matters more to you than budget. If you need something simple and fast on a tight budget, this probably isn’t the right match for either of you.
13. PWA Media — Senior-Level SEO Attention From a Small, Founder-Led Team

- Website: pwa-media.org
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.63 (59 reviews)
- Team Size: 9 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 6
- Monthly Website Visits: 98
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (1 review)
Overview
Parker Warren founded this agency and kept it small on purpose. The idea is simple: your account gets senior attention, not a handoff to whoever’s newest.
The agency has grown enough to land on a list of Utah’s fastest-growing businesses. One plumbing company picked PWA Media specifically because it was close by and priced fairly. Not because of a flashy pitch. I don’t see many agencies win business on proximity and value alone anymore.
You might expect a small team like this to feel slow or under-resourced. The reviews don’t back that up; response times and result speed both come up as strengths, not weaknesses.
Core Services
- SEO (On-Page, Off-Page, Technical)
- WordPress Web Design
- Google & Meta Ads
- Content Marketing
- Local SEO
Why They Rank
- A perfect 5.00 cost-value rating puts PWA Media at the top of this list on that measure specifically.
- At $25 an hour, this is one of the least expensive hourly rates covered in this article.
- Six years in business is the shortest track record of any agency ranked so far, the main factor keeping PWA Media this far down the list.
- Traffic sits at just 98 monthly visits, low enough to ask the agency directly how they’d approach growing it for a new client.
- The employee rating shows a perfect 5.00, but it’s from a single review, not enough to draw a real conclusion either way.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Small team, big responsiveness is the pattern across the reviews here, with clients repeatedly citing quick turnaround. There isn’t much of a downside pattern yet; the review pool is still fairly small.
Our Take
Good option if you want a founder-led team that stays personally involved in your account. Less proven if you need an agency with a long track record behind it; this one’s still building that history.
14. The Active Media — A Founder-led Six Person Shop With Over Two Decades of Client Relationships

- Website: theactivemedia.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.97 (45 reviews)
- Team Size: 6 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 21
- Monthly Website Visits: 62
- Employee Review Score: 3.60 (19 reviews)
Overview
Amber started this agency alone and still runs it herself today. The team has stayed small by choice, not by accident, through more than two decades in business.
One waterfront resort has stayed a client for more than a decade, through multiple site refreshes. That kind of loyalty is hard to fake. Clients come from across the country, not just from nearby, which is unusual for a team this size.
The honest limitation here is obvious: a team this small can only take on so much at once. I wouldn’t send a huge, multi-phase enterprise project this way. For a focused site or a long-term single-point-of-contact relationship, though, it’s hard to beat.
Core Services
- Website Design
- Branding & Marketing
- SEO & SEM
- Video Production & Brand Photography
- Social Media Marketing
Why They Rank
- A 4.97 client rating is the highest of any agency covered in this article so far, even if the review count behind it is modest at 45.
- Cost-value rating comes in at a perfect 5.00 too, backing up what the client rating already suggests.
- A team of 6 caps how much work this agency can take on at once, which is the real ceiling here, not quality.
- Monthly traffic of 62 visits is about as low as it gets on this list, worth a direct question before signing.
- The employee rating of 3.60 across 19 reviews is softer than the client-facing numbers, a gap worth noting for a team this size.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Every review circles back to the same idea: working directly with Amber feels personal, not corporate. With so few reviews on record, it’s hard to say whether that holds at a larger scale, because the agency has never really tested one.
Our Take
A solid pick for a long-term, single-contact relationship with someone who actually knows your business. Not the choice if you need a large team capable of juggling several big projects simultaneously.
15. Revity Marketing Agency — Results-Driven SEO and PPC From a Brother-Founded Team

- Website: gorevity.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.70 (144 reviews)
- Team Size: 46 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 696
- Employee Review Score: 4.00 (34 reviews)
Overview
Brothers Jarrett and Daniel Webster started this agency after noticing a gap in how marketing agencies actually operated.
Jarrett runs operations now, with Daniel still involved as co-founder. The name itself is a mashup of “revenue” and “integrity,” which tells you what they’re going for.
Their strategy leans on applied social psychology, not just standard funnel tactics. The agency also runs out of more than one office, which is less common at this size. I don’t see that kind of footprint on many agencies this far down the list.
One women’s apparel client stuck with the agency for more than three years, through a full strategy overhaul. This fits if you want psychology-driven marketing from a team built for the long haul. It’s not built for a quick-turnaround, one-off project.
Core Services
- SEO & SEM
- Web Design & Development
- Paid Advertising (PPC)
- Email Marketing & Automation
- Social Media Marketing
Why They Rank
- Web design is only 10% of Revity’s business, so most of what you’re hiring is SEO and paid media expertise applied to a site, not a design-first build.
- A $1,000 minimum project cost keeps Revity accessible, closer to the budget end of this list than the enterprise end.
- Cost-value rating lands at 4.90, one of the stronger numbers in this batch, even though Revity sits near the bottom of the overall ranking.
- 144 client reviews averaging 4.70 is a solid combination of volume and score for an agency this size.
- Traffic, team size, and years in business all land toward the lower end of this list, the honest reason this profile closes out the group rather than ranking higher.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Measurable results dominate the reviews here: better rankings, more traffic, real revenue movement clients can point to. A softer, recurring note is that early strategy sometimes needs a round of adjustment before it clicks.
Our Take
Reasonable choice if you want SEO and paid media grounded in psychology-driven strategy, not just standard playbooks. Consider other options higher on this list if traffic and team scale matter more to you than approach.
16. GoldenComm — Three Decades of Enterprise Web and eCommerce Work

- Website: goldencomm.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $25,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.95 (81 reviews)
- Team Size: 47 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 30
- Monthly Website Visits: 190
- Employee Review Score: 4.65 (32 reviews)
Overview
Jason Lavin started this agency working out of his parents’ home. Three decades later, it’s grown into a global operation. The client list spans Fortune 500 names down to mid-sized companies looking to scale up.
The team’s internal culture runs on John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success. That’s the same framework the basketball coach used to build his own teams. It’s an unusual foundation for a web agency. I think that’s part of what makes the culture stick.
You might expect a long-running agency like this to feel dated or slow to adapt. This one holds Google Premier Partner status and picked up a Clutch Global Award recently. Both are signals of staying current, not coasting on tenure.
Core Services
- Custom Web Design & Development
- eCommerce Development (Magento, Shopify)
- Digital Marketing & SEO
- ERP & Systems Integration
- Pay-Per-Click Advertising
Why They Rank
- A 4.95 client rating across 81 reviews is among the strongest scores in this article, close to the ceiling most agencies here are working toward.
- At $25,000, GoldenComm’s minimum project cost matches the highest on this entire list, tied with Brainvire at #1.
- 30 years in business is the longest track record of any agency covered, yet traffic and reach still land far behind the top of this list, which is what actually caps the ranking here.
- Monthly traffic of 190 visits is one of the lowest figures in this article, worth asking about directly given the agency’s long history.
- Web design makes up 20% of GoldenComm’s business, double what several higher-ranked agencies report, though scale and reach matter more to where this one lands.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reliability is the throughline: on-time delivery, honest scoping, and a team clients describe as easy to reach even years into the relationship. A recurring note is that documentation could be clearer, something a few reviewers wished had been tighter from the start.
Our Take
Makes sense for a mid-size or larger business that needs enterprise-grade technical work and can handle the price tag. Not the fit if you’re an early-stage or budget-limited business; the minimum project cost alone puts this out of reach for most.
17. Digital Ink — Storytelling-First Branding and Web Design for Growing Brands

- Website: digitalinkco.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (19 reviews)
- Team Size: 23 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 56
- Employee Review Score: 4.40 (19 reviews)
Overview
This agency didn’t start as a web design shop. It grew out of a legacy online magazine the team used to publish. That history explains why storytelling shows up so heavily in how they pitch branding work.
Nick Ledue co-founded and leads the agency today. The client range runs from Fortune 1000 companies down to brand-new startups. That’s a wide span for a team this size.
The agency picked up a DesignRush Editor’s Choice award for one of the year’s best designs. You might expect a small creative shop like this to operate out of a single office. This one runs teams in more than one country, which is unusual at this scale.
Core Services
- Branding & Visual Identity
- Web Design & Development
- Content Marketing & Copywriting
- Search Engine Optimization
- Publishing & Editorial Services
Why They Rank
- A 4.90 client rating looks strong on paper, but it’s built on just 19 reviews, the thinnest volume behind any top-line rating in this article.
- Cost-value rating comes in at 4.90 too, one of the higher marks in this batch even at the very end of the ranking.
- A $10,000 minimum project cost rules out the smallest budgets, consistent with the brand-strategy-heavy work this team typically takes on.
- Monthly traffic of 56 visits and a team of 23 are both modest next to the agencies ranked higher, the straightforward reason this profile closes out the list.
- Web design accounts for 20% of Digital Ink’s business, the same share as GoldenComm just above it, though the surrounding numbers put this one at #17.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Praise clusters around research depth and creative range, clients calling out how thoroughly the team dug into their industry before proposing anything. The recurring friction point is the first draft; a few reviewers say early concepts needed real course-correction before landing.
Our Take
Worth considering if brand storytelling and content matter as much to you as the website itself. Push for a clear creative brief upfront if you go this route; that’s where the early-draft friction tends to show up.
Note: Our recommendations include both locally headquartered agencies and offshore firms that provide services in this region. Some agencies featured do not maintain a physical office here but have an established track record of delivering services to clients in the area.
How to Evaluate and Choose a Web Design Agency
A few things separate a good Utah web design agency from a bad fit. Get these right and the rest tends to take care of itself.
1. Portfolio Evaluation
Pull up an agency’s last few projects on your phone. Slow loads or dated layouts tell you more than any sales page. Look for work in your own industry, not just pretty screenshots. If every example looks the same, that’s the design they’ll hand you too.
2. Pricing Transparency
Utah agencies run leaner than coastal shops. That savings should show up in your quote, not just their margins.
Ask for an itemized scope before you sign anything, and check it against typical Utah web design costs. A vague quote with no breakdown is a red flag.
3. SEO Capability
Utah’s fastest-growing cities aren’t the ones people already search by name. Ask how the agency handles that.
A generic “Utah SEO” plan misses the neighborhood-level searches your actual customers use. If they can’t name specific local terms, they haven’t done the work.
4. Communication
Ask how they handle a missed deadline before you ever hire them. That answer tells you more than any sales deck. Weekly check-ins beat a single monthly report you never read. If the sales team and the delivery team are different people, ask who you’ll actually talk to.
5. Scalability
Utah’s small businesses compete hard, so a one-time website rarely holds up for long. Ask whether the agency offers ongoing SEO or site maintenance, not just a launch and handoff. A team built only for one-off builds won’t grow with you. Pick a partner you can keep, not just hire once.
6. Local Expertise
Utah isn’t one market. St. George draws more retirees and remote workers than Salt Lake City does. An agency that only knows the Wasatch Front might miss your local audience. Ask what they actually know about your city, not just the state.
What Can Go Wrong When Hiring a Web Design Agency
These are the mistakes I see business owners make over and over. Catch them before you sign a contract, not after.
1. Choosing on Price Alone
Most Utah small businesses have no marketing staff in-house.
So the owner ends up picking whoever quoted the least, without knowing what a fair web design budget actually looks like. That’s how you end up with a template site nobody maintains. Cheap work upfront often means expensive fixes later.
2. Ignoring SEO
Utah shoppers compare businesses across nearby cities, not just their own town. Skip SEO and a competitor in the next city shows up first. That’s a customer you never even knew you lost. A pretty site with no SEO plan is a brochure, not a lead source.
3. Skipping the Portfolio Review
Don’t just glance at an agency’s homepage and call it research. Click into a few real client sites and actually use them. Slow pages, broken links, or confusing navigation are the agency’s fingerprints, not the client’s. Whatever you see is what you’re signing up for.
4. Not Checking Reviews
So many people move to Utah now that word-of-mouth alone won’t tell you who’s reliable. Read the reviews, especially the 3-star ones, not just the 5-star pile.
That’s where you’ll see exactly what goes wrong on a real project. Skip that step and you’re hiring on vibes.
5. Overlooking Mobile
Utah’s population skews young, and young means phone-first. A site that looks great on a laptop but breaks on mobile loses most of your audience. Test it yourself before you approve anything. Pinch, scroll, and tap through every page on your own phone first.
6. No Ongoing Support Plan
Utah’s recreation-driven businesses see sharp seasonal swings that a static site can’t keep up with. Ask what happens after launch, not just during it.
If there’s no plan for updates, security, or content changes, you’re on your own within weeks. Get the ongoing plan in writing before you sign.
What to Keep in Mind
Use this list as a starting point, not a final answer. Match the Utah web design agency to your budget and the kind of build you actually need, whether that’s a quick local site or a full eCommerce platform. Check a few portfolios yourself before you commit to anyone.
Utah’s business population keeps growing, and Utah County alone is expected to roughly double by the middle of the century.
That means more competition for search visibility every year, not less. The agencies on this list already understand that shift. Picking the right one now puts you ahead of it instead of catching up later.
Our Scoring Framework Explained
This article evaluates agencies that serve Utah businesses. Some are headquartered in Utah; others are national or international firms that state they serve clients in the region.
Headquarters location is shown where available and is not, by itself, a ranking factor.
We collected the underlying data in 2026 from the public sources listed below. Website traffic, team size, ratings, review counts, rates, minimum project costs, and service-focus percentages are estimates or reported figures that can change. We do not guarantee that every figure remains current after publication.
Rankings are editorial research, not professional advice or an endorsement. Before hiring an agency, confirm current pricing, scope, availability, references, and relevant local experience directly with the agency.
Why This Ranking Is Different
Most agency roundups lean on editorial opinion, self-reported claims, or paid placement. This one doesn’t work that way. I built a repeatable scoring framework and applied it the same way to every agency on this list.
You’ll see these companies called web design agencies serving Utah, not always agencies in Utah. Some are headquartered here. Others are national or offshore firms that serve Utah clients well. The framework treats them the same.
Every agency here is evaluated with the same scoring framework, no exceptions. Physical location isn’t a ranking factor on its own, unless it maps to something the model actually scores.
An agency based in Utah doesn’t earn extra points for that alone. Neither does paying for a spot on this list, because nobody did.
Service pages, portfolios, and case studies all help me understand an agency and write its profile. So do client lists, awards, certifications, and partnerships. Technical expertise, local presence, proprietary processes, and media mentions round that out.
None of it moves the score on its own. It only counts if it maps to one of the weighted metrics below. That distinction matters, because the same rule governs every Why They Rank section later in this piece.
Where Your Data Comes From
We collected the data independently during 2026. Website traffic estimates come from SEMrush. Client ratings and review counts come from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Google Business Profile, and Trustpilot.
Employee ratings and review volume come from Glassdoor and Indeed. LinkedIn supplies each agency’s team size.
Everything else comes from agency websites and other public sources. That includes services, pricing, hourly rates, minimum project size, and business history.
I also reviewed service pages, portfolios, case studies, public client examples, awards, partnerships, and certifications for every agency.
That work confirms web design capabilities and gives each profile real context. Unless represented by one of the weighted metrics below, none of it affects the numerical score.
The Five Dimensions That Shape Your Rankings
Each agency is scored across five weighted areas. Positive categories add points, while pricing metrics apply deductions for higher cost barriers.
1. Web Design Focus & Value Assessment (20%)
This category measures how central web design is to an agency’s business. It also captures how clients rate the value they got for the cost.
Agencies benefit when web design is a meaningful part of their business. They also benefit when clients consistently report strong value for the money. Portfolio quality, awards, certifications, and technical expertise don’t factor into this score.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Web Design Focus | 10% | Web Design appeared as a core agency service |
| Client Rating for Cost | 10% | Average cost/value rating from selected review platforms |
If a service-focus percentage was unavailable or could not be verified, we applied the missing-data rule described below rather than treating the agency as having no web-design focus.
Missing Data Rule:
Missing data was not automatically scored as zero. When a metric was unavailable, we [excluded that metric and reweighted the available metrics / assigned a defined conservative score]. We used the same rule for every agency.
2. Brand Authority (45%)
Brand Authority measures an agency’s visibility, scale, and operating history. It’s the framework’s biggest factor in the score.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Traffic | 20% | Higher estimated SEMrush traffic contributed more points |
| LinkedIn Team Size | 15% | Larger teams contributed more points |
| Years in Business | 10% | Longer operating histories contributed more points |
These metrics work as comparative signals of market presence, delivery capacity, and operating stability. A bigger agency isn’t automatically a better one. It just tends to score higher here.
3. Client Satisfaction (30%)
Client Satisfaction blends rating quality with how many reviews back it up.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Client Rating | 15% | Combined ratings from selected review platforms |
| Total Client Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume contributed more confidence to the score |
A high rating backed by hundreds of reviews carries more weight than the same rating from a handful. Review themes, like what clients praise or complain about, live in each agency’s Snapshot section, not here.
4. Employee Satisfaction (25%)
Employee sentiment adds another signal of how stable an agency really is behind the scenes.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Employee Rating | 10% | Average rating from Glassdoor and Indeed |
| Number of Employee Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume reduced the influence of very small samples |
Both the rating and the number of employee reviews matter here. A strong rating from just a few reviews counts for less than the same rating backed by dozens.
This score doesn’t tell you whether a team is happy or burned out. It only reflects what the measured data shows.
5. Cost Accessibility Adjustment (-20%)
This is the only category that subtracts points instead of adding them.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Hourly Rate | -10% | Higher hourly rates received larger deductions |
| Minimum Project Cost | -10% | Higher entry costs reduced accessibility scores |
This doesn’t mean expensive agencies do worse work. It only accounts for how accessible each agency is across a wider range of budgets. Combined, this adjustment can subtract a meaningful share of an agency’s score, not just a token amount.
How the Final Score Works
Each metric is normalized, weighted, and combined into a single score out of 100. Positive metrics can contribute up to 120 points. The Cost Accessibility Adjustment can subtract up to 20 points, based on hourly rate and minimum project cost.
No single metric decides where an agency lands. A larger agency might benefit from stronger traffic, team size, or years in business. A smaller one might win on client satisfaction, employee sentiment, web design focus, value, or affordability instead.
Awards, clients, and partnerships can all appear in a profile. So can certifications, case studies, and portfolio quality.
Local presence, technical expertise, proprietary processes, and media mentions work the same way. None of it changes the score unless it maps to a metric above.
This framework lets me compare agencies fairly across different sizes, pricing models, and market positions.
Note: All rankings and scores are based solely on publicly available data collected at the time of publication. These rankings reflect the market landscape at the time of publication. Although individual metrics may change over time, the evaluation framework prioritizes long-term capability signals, making major ranking fluctuations unlikely.
