Alberta is really two markets. Calgary and Edmonton sit a long drive apart, and each has its own agency scene.
Add smaller cities and towns, and the field gets wide fast. That makes a search for Alberta web design agencies harder than it looks.
Directory lists mix local studios with firms that only serve the province remotely. It’s hard to tell which is which. Pick wrong, and you pay for a team that doesn’t know your customers.
So I built a ranking that cuts through it. I evaluated 52 agencies, pulling data from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, and SEMrush.
Then I scored each one the same way, no matter where it works. That gives you a fair way to compare a small studio with a large team. The right fit is rarely the loudest name on the list. Start with the ones that match your project.

Deep Dive: Agency-by-Agency Reviews
Here’s what the scores don’t show. Services, strengths, and where each one falls short.
Each profile follows the same layout, so you can compare agencies fairly. Full reviews cover the highest-ranked agencies from the table. Read the ones you’re weighing and skip the rest.
1. Top Draw Digital Marketing — Best if you want search and ads to lead, with a website to match

- Website: topdraw.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.53 (78 reviews)
- Team Size: 23 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 33
- Monthly Website Visits: 4,428
- Employee Review Score: 3.4 (20 reviews)
Overview
Top Draw covers search, paid ads, social media, and web design under one roof. It plans the website as one part of a wider marketing strategy.
That mix has a history. The team says it moved from digital generalist to performance specialist. It now acts as a strategic partner that recommends approaches based on data.
Its client list includes Stantec and Melcor Developments. More recently, it added services aimed at dental practices and recruitment agencies.
It marked a milestone anniversary with a rebrand of the agency itself. Today it frames its search work around AI as well as classic SEO.
I’d point you here if you want search and ads help, with a solid site to match. If the site is your only need, the wider menu may be more than you want.
Core Services
- Web design and website builds
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Online advertising, including Google Ads
- Social media marketing
- Content writing and marketing training
Why They Rank #1
- It has operated longer than any other agency on this list, which is real proof of staying power.
- People can clearly find it, since only two agencies draw more monthly visitors.
- Hourly work runs at the top of this list’s range. The minimum project cost sits at the floor, so you can start small.
- Design is a smaller slice of its business than at most agencies here.
- Client ratings are its weakest field, near the bottom of the list despite plenty of reviews. Tenure and reach put it first. Feedback and design focus did not.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Project management earns the most praise. Clients meet deadlines and detailed reporting, and several have stayed for years. Search and ad results earn regular mentions. The one recurring complaint is slow delivery on some projects.
Our Take
Choose Top Draw if you want monthly SEO and ad management, with a website built to support them. Skip it if one site build is all you need, or if top client ratings matter most.
2. DD.NYC — Right for you if design and brand lead the project

- Website: dd.nyc
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (197 reviews)
- Team Size: 40 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 11
- Monthly Website Visits: 6,554
- Employee Review Score: 3.0 (1 review)
Overview
DD.NYC is a creative studio with a wide range. Its work spans branding, packaging, UI/UX, and video, alongside web design.
That range shows in its client list. Match Group, Forbes, Scholastic, and Diageo all appear among its named clients.
It has also launched an official website for the FIFA World Cup 2026, a high-profile recent project.
Anjelika Kour founded the agency as a women-owned studio. The team includes art directors and creative directors across those disciplines.
I’d suggest this studio if your brand needs a strong look across web and print. If you want a simple site on a small budget, the entry price will likely be a stretch.
Core Services
- Web design and WordPress builds
- Branding and corporate identity
- UI/UX design
- Packaging and graphic design
- Video production and storytelling
Why They Rank #2
- No agency here draws more monthly visitors, and only two field bigger teams. Few rivals match that reach and capacity.
- Its rating rests on a large sample, because only two agencies have more client reviews.
- Clients rate its value for cost in the top third of the list. Web design is also a real share of its work.
- The weak spot is employee sentiment. The score is low and rests on a single review, so treat it as a thin signal.
- Price is what keeps it out of first. Its minimum project cost and hourly rate both sit at the high end of this list.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers repeatedly describe sharp designs delivered on time, often beyond what they expected. Value for money is a frequent theme too. A few wanted fuller documentation, especially when work moved between teams.
Our Take
A funded brand that needs web, packaging, and identity from one team should look here first. Skip it if you want a quick, low-cost site, since the entry price and hourly rate run high.
3. CreoLogic Design Inc — A fit if you want one designer and a direct line

- Website: creologic.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.63 (98 reviews)
- Team Size: 3 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 24
- Monthly Website Visits: 3,607
- Employee Review Score: 5.0 (1 review)
Overview
CreoLogic is a very small team, and the agency says you work directly with your designer. Its pitch is experts, not executives.
It builds and maintains sites on WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace. SEO and paid search come as add-ons.
It has served small businesses for years, in construction, dental care, e-commerce, energy, hospitality, and industrial work.
Its own pitch is plain-English advice from straight-shooting communicators. That fits a small shop with so few people between you and the work.
I’d suggest it if you run a small business and want a hands-on partner without agency overhead. If you need a big team for a large build, look elsewhere on this list.
Core Services
- Custom web design on WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace
- E-commerce sites on WooCommerce and Shopify
- Website maintenance and content updates
- SEO and local SEO
- Paid search (PPC) and social media marketing
Why They Rank #3
- Value for cost is where it stands out. Clients rate it at the top of this list.
- More than at most agencies here, its business is web design.
- Its history is long and its site draws steady visitors, both among the top handful on the list.
- The weak spot is client ratings, near the bottom of the list despite plenty of reviews. Value-for-cost scores tell a happier story.
- A very small team keeps it out of the top two. Value and longevity are high, but capacity is limited.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The feedback is warm but limited. One client credits the team with ideas for the business that went beyond the logo it designed. Another picked it after comparing three agencies. Support after launch also gets a mention.
Our Take
You’ll do well here if you want one designer, a fair price, and help after launch. Skip it if you need a large team, complex integrations, or fast parallel work.
4. dNOVO — Built for service businesses that live on search

- Website: dnovogroup.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.7 (229 reviews)
- Team Size: 15 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 15
- Monthly Website Visits: 5,886
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
dNOVO builds its practice around service businesses that live on search. Law firms, medical and dental practices, and contractors are its core clients.
The idea is simple. It takes one client per niche in each region, so your direct rivals aren’t on its books.
Founder Shamil Shamilov describes the job as helping the right people find a business at the right moment.
The team has also moved early on AI search. It now offers answer engine and generative engine optimization alongside classic SEO.
I’d point you here if you run a law firm, clinic, or trades business. It suits owners who want leads more than a showpiece site. If design craft is your main need, look at agencies where web design is the core service.
Core Services
- Conversion-focused web design for service businesses
- SEO and local SEO
- Google Ads and Local Services Ads
- AI search optimization
- Content marketing
Why They Rank #4
- More clients have reviewed dNOVO than any other agency here, so its score is well tested.
- Only one agency draws more monthly visitors, which points to strong search visibility.
- Clients rate its value for cost at the top of the list. The mid-range hourly rate means that score comes without a premium price.
- Even with that review volume, its client rating lands near the bottom of the list.
- Web design is one of the smallest shares of its business on this list. That, more than anything, keeps it from a higher spot.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Nearly all the praise is about search results, not site design. Reviewers mention proactive communication and clear, data-driven advice. They also credit it with better rankings, more leads, and more traffic. None flag a recurring problem.
Our Take
A law firm, clinic, or trades business chasing steady search leads gets the most from dNOVO. Pass if design craft is your priority or you only need a simple brochure site.
5. Websites.ca Web Design — A match if you want the site, hosting, and updates in one plan

- Website: websites.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.3 (82 reviews)
- Team Size: 8 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 27
- Monthly Website Visits: 100
- Employee Review Score: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Overview
Websites.ca is built for the small business owner who wants the whole website handled. Design, hosting, a domain, email, and updates come in one package.
The agency later moved its builds to WordPress. It then created its own managed hosting, tuned for speed, security, and nightly backups.
Most of the team has stayed together for years. It doesn’t outsource its work or support overseas.
Its customers are small businesses across almost every industry, mostly owners with little technical know-how.
I’d point you here if you want one predictable plan and a team that picks up the phone. If you need custom features or a design-led brand build, look elsewhere.
Core Services
- Web design on WordPress
- Managed WordPress hosting
- Domain name and email setup
- Year-round updates and support
- On-page SEO and Google Business Profile setup
Why They Rank #5
- Web design is the core of the business, a bigger share than at nearly any agency here.
- Its hourly rate sits at the lowest end of this list, and so does its minimum project cost.
- Only four agencies have operated longer.
- Clients rate it lower than almost anyone here. That makes client rating its weakest field, and value-for-cost scores trail most agencies too.
- Cheap, focused, and experienced, but that rating gap is what stops it climbing.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The picture is mixed but mostly warm. Clients say sites arrive on time, and many stay on for hosting and updates. One reviewer said the work fell short of expectations, and Clutch carries only a few reviews.
Our Take
A small business owner who wants a fixed monthly plan and no tech worries will fit well. Skip it if you want a bespoke design, complex integrations, or agency-level strategy.
6. BubbleUP Marketing & Web Design — Worth a look if you want web, print, and marketing from one team

- Website: bubbleup.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.9 (49 reviews)
- Team Size: 27 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 22
- Monthly Website Visits: 889
- Employee Review Score: 4.4 (10 reviews)
Overview
BubbleUP started as an online marketing shop focused on search and ads. It grew into a full-service agency that also does web design, graphic design, and print.
A merger with a web development firm added custom applications and e-commerce work. The agency unveiled a new brand and website to mark the change.
Later it bought a printing company. Design and print jobs now sit under one team.
Its client base runs from small startups to large corporations. Its case studies include Cushman & Wakefield, DFC Diesel, and Ashley Fine Floors.
I’d suggest it if you want web, print, and marketing handled by one team. If web design is your only need, a more focused shop may fit better.
Core Services
- Web design and development
- Custom web applications and e-commerce
- Graphic design and print
- SEO and pay-per-click advertising
- Social media and content marketing
Why They Rank #6
- Team size is its strength. Only five agencies field larger teams, so it can staff several projects at once.
- It has operated longer than most, with only eight agencies claiming a longer history.
- Clients rate its value for cost lower than any other agency on this list. That is its clearest weakness.
- Its hourly rate sits mid-range, while its minimum project cost sits at the floor.
- Traffic and review volume land mid-list. With that value score, they hold it at sixth.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clutch holds just one review, from a transportation company, so the picture is thin. That client valued the team’s deep interest in its business. It was also weighing a bigger SEO role for the agency. There is little else there to judge.
Our Take
You get the most here if you want web, print, and marketing from one team. Skip it if value for money is your top test, and ask for references before any SEO retainer.
7. Phenomenon Studio — Made for SaaS and fintech teams that need product-grade design

- Website: phenomenonstudio.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (85 reviews)
- Team Size: 79 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 4,009
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Phenomenon Studio calls itself a boutique product design studio. It works with companies whose brand, website, or product no longer matches what the business has become.
Most of its clients are in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, and education technology. The studio says most of them come back for a second project.
Its credentials suit those fields. It is a Webflow Experts partner, HIPAA-compliant, and UX certified by Nielsen Norman Group.
The team is made up of senior designers and developers. It covers UX research through mobile and web builds.
I’d suggest it if you run a software or fintech company and need product-grade design. If you want a simple brochure site on a small budget, expect it to feel like too much.
Core Services
- Web design and Webflow development
- UI/UX design
- Product design and design systems
- Web and mobile app development
- AI-powered product development
Why They Rank #7
- Only three agencies draw more monthly visitors, and only seven have more client reviews.
- No agency on this list has a bigger team, so capacity is its clearest strength.
- Its hourly rate is among the lowest here, yet its minimum project cost sits near the top. Small tasks are cheap, but getting started is not.
- Web design is one of the smallest shares of its business on this list. That matters if a website is all you need.
- Its history is short next to the agencies around it, and few on the list are younger. That, more than anything, holds it at seventh.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Most reviewers are fintech and software teams, and they describe clean, polished design delivered on schedule. Open communication is another frequent note. A few wished for closer attention to detail, and that is the only note of its kind.
Our Take
A software or fintech team that needs a product-grade interface and a Webflow-ready site fits well. Skip it for a basic marketing site, or if you need a low starting price.

Core Services
- Web design and Webflow development
- UX and UI design in Figma
- Branding and visual identity
- Custom web development
- Digital strategy
Why They Rank #8
- Clients rate it higher than all but twelve other agencies here.
- Team size and reach are its strengths. Only three agencies field bigger teams, and only seven draw more monthly visitors.
- Web design is a big part of the work. The hourly rate also sits at the lowest end of the list.
- Its weakest field is employee sentiment, a below-average score from a small group of reviewers.
- A high minimum project cost and a shorter track record than most hold it at eighth.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
One note stands out: a reviewer said the design phase ran long. Otherwise clients praise the design and the team’s knowledge. One nonprofit saw more traffic and brand awareness after launch.
Our Take
A tech company or nonprofit that wants a Webflow site with strong branding will get good value here. Skip it if you need a fast turnaround or a starter budget.
9. Marvel Marketing — A strong pick if you want design and marketing in one plan

- Website: marvelmarketing.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.95 (138 reviews)
- Team Size: 12 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,581

Projects typically run from a few weeks to a few months, depending on scope. Founder Ryan McRae started the agency and still leads it.
Its client mix is wide: legal, real estate, automotive, franchise, trades, healthcare, e-commerce, and sports marketing. It aims at small and midsize businesses.
Clutch has named it a top full-service digital company. UpCity gave it a national excellence award.
I’d suggest it if you want a design partner that can also handle SEO and ads later. If you only need a one-off page, the fuller package may be more than you want.
Core Services
- Custom web design and development
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Pay-per-click advertising
- Social media marketing
- Branding and reputation management
Why They Rank #9
- Few agencies pair this many client reviews with a rating this high.
- Value for cost is a strength: clients rate it in the top third of the list. The hourly rate sits mid-range.
- Staff rate it at the top of the list, though only a few reviewers back that score.
- Its weakest spot is track record, which sits mid-list. Team size and traffic are only a little better, and that keeps it from a higher spot.
- It wins on satisfaction and value, not on size or age.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Praise centers on steady gains in Google visibility, easy revisions, and detailed SEO reports. One reviewer called the agency a relief after a bad experience elsewhere. A first-time client wondered whether their expectations were fair.
Our Take
A small or midsize business that wants a site and ongoing SEO from one team fits well. Skip it if you want a one-page site or a big agency bench.
10. Pixel Army — Solid if you want a custom site built around your goals

- Website: pixelarmy.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.9 (68 reviews)
- Team Size: 14 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 22
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,626

Its clients range from contractors and land developers to court reporters and non-profits. Government bodies and home builders appear in the mix too.
Named clients include RejuvaDerm. The agency serves small and large clients, public and private.
I’d suggest it if you want a custom site built around your goals. SEO and ads are available after launch. If a template site will do, its custom approach may be more than you need.
Core Services
- Custom web design and development
- Content management tools for your site
- Branding and visual identity
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Paid search and digital advertising
Why They Rank #10
- Web design is the core of the business, a bigger share than at almost every agency here.
- On value for cost, clients score it as high as anyone. The mid-range hourly rate backs that up.
- Only eight agencies have operated longer.
- Its lowest placing is employee sentiment, near the bottom of the agencies that have a score.
- Client ratings land mid-list, and traffic is only a step above. That keeps it behind the agencies above it. Focus, value, and history got it here.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers span contractors, land developers, and a court reporting firm. They value the full range from web build to SEO and support. A steel company praised how the team took over a hacked site. Clutch reviews are few, all favorable.
Our Take
A contractor, developer, or non-profit that wants a custom site and long-term support fits well here. Skip it if a template will do, or if you want the biggest team or top client scores.
11. Full Blast Creative — Pick it if you want web, video, and social from one team

- Website: fullblastcreative.ca
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.85 (93 reviews)
- Team Size: 16 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 15
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,014
- Employee Review Score: 4.0 (7 reviews)
Overview
Full Blast Creative began at a rock show. Two ticket holders, a web designer and a social media manager, decided to start an agency together.
Michael Wynn had recently sold his stake in an earlier web design agency. Crystal DeCnodder had left an oil and gas job for creative work.
Today it builds sites on Shopify and WordPress. Video, print, and social media work sit under the same roof, which is broader than most web shops.
It has produced a large catalog of business videos. Its clients include nonprofits, trades businesses, and independent creators.
I’d suggest it if you want your website, video, and social media handled by one team. If you want a web-only specialist, the wider mix may be more than you need.
Core Services
- Web design and development on Shopify and WordPress
- E-commerce websites
- Video production and editing
- Social media campaigns
- SEO and search marketing
Why They Rank #11
- Only six agencies have more client reviews, so its rating rests on plenty of evidence.
- Value for cost lands in the top third of the list. The hourly rate sits mid-range.
- Staff sentiment sits a little below the middle of rated agencies. Seven reviews make it a fairly solid sample.
- Client rating is its weakest field, in the lower third of the list even with that review volume.
- Traffic and team size sit only in the upper middle, so nothing lifts it past the agencies above.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Control is a recurring theme. Clients felt they kept it, which some had not found with other web design partners. Deadlines were met and change requests were welcome. Projects range from a nonprofit to a plumbing company to an independent journalist.
Our Take
A nonprofit, trades business, or creator who wants site, video, and social in one place fits well. Skip it if you want a web-only specialist or the highest client scores.
12. Azuro Digital — Ideal if you want a conversion-focused site from a hands-on team

- Website: azurodigital.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.83 (204 reviews)
- Team Size: 10 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 8
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,729
- Employee Review Score: 1.3 (3 reviews)
Overview
Azuro Digital is a small, remote team that builds websites meant to drive revenue. It says every project starts with industry research, then adds SEO, conversion work, and a clear user experience.
Its clients come from manufacturing, construction, finance, healthcare, and nonprofits. The founder stays hands-on in client projects.
Clutch’s Leaders Matrix ranks it as a top web design company in Canada. It has also won design awards from platforms like DesignRush and CSS Design Awards. An accessibility checker service lists it as a verified agency for accessible sites.
I’d suggest it if you want a conversion-focused site and a founder who stays involved. If you need a large team or a low starting price, look at other agencies here.
Core Services
- Custom website design and WordPress development
- SEO and AI search optimization
- Conversion rate optimization
- Branding and copywriting
- Accessibility and loading-speed work
Why They Rank #12
- Web design is central to the business, with only two agencies giving it a bigger share.
- Only one agency has more client reviews, so it is among the best-tested names on the list.
- Its hourly rate sits mid-range, and value for cost lands just below the middle of the list.
- Its employee score is the lowest among rated agencies, though only a few reviews back it.
- A short track record, a lower client rating, and a high entry price hold it at twelfth. Review volume cannot offset them.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients keep noticing how fast the team turns feedback into changes. Creativity paired with strategy, technical skill, and flexibility also come up. Nothing negative repeats across the large set of reviews on its profile.
Our Take
A manufacturer, healthcare provider, or nonprofit that wants a revenue-focused, accessible site fits well. Skip it if you need a low entry price, a large bench, or just a simple template site.
13. Mediashaker — A steady choice if you want a veteran team and its own CMS

- Website: mediashaker.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.9 (50 reviews)
- Team Size: 12 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 28
- Monthly Website Visits: 332
- Employee Review Score: 3.9 (3 reviews)
Overview
Mediashaker built its own platform, ShoutCMS, on top of its web work. Clients use it to manage a site, email marketing, quotes, invoices, and orders.
That fits the businesses it serves: small e-commerce, consumer products, and business services firms. Many of its builds pair a storefront with back-office tools.
It keeps development in house, and its site says it likes phone calls.
Its team is smaller than many here, but it has stayed in business far longer than most.
I’d suggest it if you want a veteran team and one system for your site and sales tools. If you want a design-led brand studio, other agencies here fit better.
Core Services
- Custom web design and development
- E-commerce and B2B wholesale sites
- ShoutCMS for contacts, invoicing, and orders
- SEO and pay-per-click advertising
- Branding, print design, and social media
Why They Rank #13
- Only Top Draw has operated longer, which makes it one of the most experienced agencies here.
- Web design is central to the business, with only three agencies giving it a bigger share.
- Value for cost also scores in the top third of the list, and the hourly rate sits mid-range.
- Its lowest placings are client rating and review volume, both near the middle of the list.
- Traffic and team size are modest, which keeps it from climbing past the agencies above. Experience and focus carry it to thirteenth.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviews are few but warm. One client praised the team’s professionalism and knowledge. Another liked how it reshaped the CMS for a complicated ordering process. A long-time client keeps returning, and none raises a concern.
Our Take
A small business that wants a veteran team and one system for orders and email fits well. Skip it if you want a design-led brand studio or a large team.
14. Box Clever — A safe pick if you want a full-time, in-house team

- Website: boxclever.ca

- Team Size: 21 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 21

- Employee Review Score: 3.6 (11 reviews)
Overview
Box Clever began as a collaboration between two brothers, Chris and Steve Mebs. Both are principal partners today.

Its clients include governments, schools, universities, utilities, and private companies. Its stated approach is user-centered design, and it says its designers are well versed in it.
I’d suggest it if you want a full-time, in-house team for a public or institutional site. If you need a low starting price, expect a steeper entry.
Core Services
- Custom web design
- Web development, including custom software
- E-commerce development
- Branding and graphic design
- Paid search and social media marketing
Why They Rank #14

- Staff ratings sit in the lower half of rated agencies. Only one agency has more employee reviews.
- Value for cost is its weakest field. Clients rate it near the bottom of the list.
- Few client reviews, a lower client rating, and a high starting price hold it at fourteenth.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers keep returning to one thing: excellent project management, with easy communication even when plans changed. Value for money and timely delivery matter to them too. The set of reviews is modest, and all favorable.
Our Take
A public body, school, or institution that wants a full-time in-house team will find a fit here. Skip it if you want a low entry price or a large pool of client reviews.
15. Tiller Digital — Built for B2B software teams that need a brand and a site

- Website: tillerdigital.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $25,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.95 (16 reviews)
- Team Size: 25 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 18
- Monthly Website Visits: 2,919
- Employee Review Score: 2.7 (11 reviews)
Overview
Tiller Digital was started by CEO Chantelle Little while she was still in business school. It began by shooting promo videos from a loft. It now builds brands, websites, and complex apps, with a team of designers and developers.
Its focus today is B2B tech and software companies across North America. Its pitch is a balance of strategy and speed. Brand identity, UI/UX, and web development sit under one roof.
I’d suggest it if you run a software company and want brand and site work together. If your budget is small, or you want many client reviews as proof, look elsewhere here.
Core Services
- Conversion-focused web design
- Brand identity and positioning
- UI/UX and product design
- Web and application development
- Marketing and digital strategy
Why They Rank #15
- Only five agencies draw more monthly visitors, and only six field bigger teams. That is real reach and capacity.
- Clients rate it higher than all but twelve other agencies here.
- Web design is a middling share of its business, and its hourly rate sits mid-range.
- Very few clients have reviewed it, so that high rating rests on a thin sample.
- Its minimum project cost is among the highest on this list, and employee sentiment sits near the bottom. Those two things hold it at fifteenth.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Realistic goals and on-schedule delivery stand out most. Others call the team responsive and easy to work with, and one internal team liked its new brand. Clutch carries few reviews for it.
Our Take
A B2B software company with a real budget that wants brand and web work together fits well. Skip it if you need a low starting price or a deep bench of reviews.
Disclosure: Our recommendations include both locally headquartered agencies and offshore firms that provide services in this region. Some agencies featured do not maintain a physical office here but have an established track record of delivering services to clients in the area.
How to Evaluate and Choose a Web Design Agency
Web design is still in demand because visitors judge a site in seconds. That makes the hire matter more than the price tag. These six checks help you tell a good fit from a good pitch.
1. Judge Their Portfolio on Your Phone
Open a few recent projects on your phone. Slow pages or dated layouts tell you more than any pitch deck. Then find a site like yours and try to book or buy. If it’s easy, the UI/UX Design is doing its job.
2. Ask What the Price Includes
Ask for a scoped quote, not one number. A Cost Calculator helps you sanity-check what comes back. Redesigns can run from $1,000 to $25,000, depending on the work. Budgets here often follow commodity prices, so ask about phased projects.
3. Test Their SEO Thinking
Buyers here search with a city name. Ask how the agency builds pages for those searches. A solid answer covers page speed, URL structure, and local listings. A vague “we do SEO” is your cue to keep looking.
4. Judge Communication Before You Sign
Ask how they handle a missed deadline. The answer shows how they treat you when things go wrong. Notice how fast they reply before you pay. A slow sales process rarely speeds up after launch.
5. Plan for Where You’ll Be Next Year
Pick an agency that can grow with you. Startup and software teams often outgrow a brochure site fast. That’s why SaaS Web Design plans for growth from the start. Ask what happens when you add products, pages, or a new market.
6. Ask What They Know About Your Area
A remote team can still be a strong fit. Ask which parts of the province it has worked in, including the smaller cities around Calgary and Edmonton. Then ask how it would reach your customers there. Real answers beat a generic pitch.
What Not to Do When Choosing a Web Design Agency
Most bad hires trace back to a few avoidable mistakes. These eight cost owners the most, and each has a quick fix.
1. Choosing on Price Alone
Quotes in this market range widely, so the cheapest one looks tempting. Check what it leaves out first. A quote that leaves out strategy, content, or support turns a low price into a second bill. Compare scope line by line, not the total.
2. Skipping the Portfolio Review
A logo wall isn’t proof. Open the live sites and click around. Check loading speed, forms, and how each page looks on a small screen. If no live work matches your needs, that’s your answer.
3. Not Reading the Reviews
Google reviews and directory ratings don’t mean the same thing. Directory pages and listicles fill the results, and each one scores differently. Read the 3-star reviews first. That’s where you learn what actually goes wrong.
4. Ignoring SEO Until Launch Day
Nearby customers often find a business through map results. Strong Google reviews and a complete business profile decide who shows up there. A new site that ignores this stays invisible. Ask for SEO setup before design starts.
5. Overlooking Mobile and Slow Connections
Most small-business traffic comes from phones, so responsive design isn’t optional. Heavy pages also struggle on slower rural connections. Test every prototype on a mid-range phone. Mobile friendly means fast, not just narrow.
6. Hiring a Friend by Default
A relative or freelancer feels safe and cheap. Many owners later find they own a site nobody can update. Ask who fixes it when the builder gets busy. If the answer is a shrug, keep shopping.
7. Assuming You Own Everything
Ask who owns your domain, hosting account, and site files. Some owners learn the answer only when they try to leave. Get it in writing before the first invoice. You should be able to export your site.
8. Launching Without a Support Plan
A site isn’t finished at launch. Energy and industrial firms know how old pages and PDFs pile up when nobody looks after them. Agree on ongoing support, updates, and backups before you sign. Software companies should also plan monthly SaaS SEO.
What to Keep in Mind
The best web design agencies in Alberta are not the same for every business. Use this ranking as a starting point, not a verdict.
Read the profiles that match your project. Then compare price, reviews, and team size against your needs. Ask each agency to show live work. Have it spell out what the quote includes, who owns the site, and what support follows launch.
If you serve a fast-growing suburb, ask how the agency handles local search and service pages. We built this ranking at OneLittleWeb to make that comparison easier.
Pick a few names, book a call, and let their answers decide.
How We Assess the Agencies on This List
Why This Ranking Is Different
Most agency roundups lean heavily on editorial opinion, self-reported claims, or paid placement. This ranking uses a repeatable scoring framework instead. We apply it the same way to every agency.
We rank web design agencies serving Alberta, whether they work in the province or reach it from elsewhere. Physical location is not part of the scoring model. No agency gets extra points for being local, and none paid for inclusion or a higher position.
Scored metrics are separate from our hands-on research. Service pages, portfolios, case studies, awards, clients, and technical skills help us write each profile. They add or remove points only when they match one of the weighted metrics below.
Where Your Data Comes From
We collected the data independently during 2026. Every figure comes from a public source, and here is where each one came from.
SEMrush gave us estimated monthly website traffic, so treat those numbers as estimates. Client ratings and review counts came from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Google Business Profile, and Trustpilot. Glassdoor and Indeed supplied employee ratings and review counts.
LinkedIn gave us each agency’s team size. Agency websites and other public sources covered services, pricing, hourly rates, minimum project size, and business history.
We also read service pages, portfolios, case studies, public client examples, awards, partnerships, and certifications. That confirmed each agency’s web design work and gave context for the profiles.
Unless represented by one of the weighted metrics below, these qualitative findings do not affect the numerical score.
The Five Dimensions That Shape Your Rankings
Each agency is scored across five weighted areas. Positive categories add points, while pricing metrics apply deductions for higher cost barriers.
1. Web Design Focus & Value Assessment (20%)
This category measures how central web design is to the agency’s offering. It also captures how clients rate the value they received relative to cost.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Web Design Focus | 10% | Web design appeared as a core agency service |
| Client Rating for Cost | 10% | Average cost/value rating from selected review platforms |
Agencies gain when web design is a real part of the business and clients report good value.
2. Brand Authority (45%)
Brand Authority measures visibility, scale, and operating history. It carries the largest weight in the framework.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Traffic | 20% | Higher estimated SEMrush traffic contributed more points |
| LinkedIn Team Size | 15% | Larger teams contributed more points |
| Years in Business | 10% | Longer operating histories contributed more points |
We use these metrics as signals of market presence, delivery capacity, and stability. None of this means larger agencies are automatically better.
3. Client Satisfaction (30%)
This category combines rating quality with review volume. Both carry equal weight.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Client Rating | 15% | Combined ratings from selected review platforms |
| Total Client Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume contributed more confidence to the score |
A high rating backed by many reviews counts for more than the same rating from only a few.
4. Employee Satisfaction (25%)
Employee sentiment gives us another signal about how stable an agency is as an employer.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Employee Rating | 10% | Average rating from Glassdoor and Indeed |
| Number of Employee Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume reduced the influence of very small samples |
Both the rating and the number of employee reviews matter. A strong score from a handful of reviews counts for less than the same score from many.
5. Cost Accessibility Adjustment (-20%)
This is the only category that subtracts points. It looks at hourly rate and minimum project cost.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Hourly Rate | -10% | Higher hourly rates received larger deductions |
| Minimum Project Cost | -10% | Higher entry costs reduced accessibility scores |
This does not mean expensive agencies do worse work. It only accounts for how accessible each agency is across a wider range of budgets. The two deductions can add up to 20 points, so they can move an agency’s position.
How the Final Score Works
Each metric is scaled, weighted, and combined into a score out of 100.
Positive metrics contribute up to 120 points. A Cost Accessibility Adjustment can deduct up to 20 points based on hourly rate and minimum project cost.
No single metric determines an agency’s ranking. Larger agencies may benefit from stronger traffic, team size, or longevity. Smaller agencies may excel in client satisfaction, employee sentiment, web design focus, value, or affordability.
Only the weighted metrics affect rankings. Profiles may mention awards, clients, partnerships, certifications, and case studies. Portfolio quality, local presence, technical skills, proprietary processes, and media mentions may appear too. None of these changes a score on its own.
This lets us compare agencies of different sizes, pricing models, and market positions on equal terms.
Disclosures
Note: All rankings and scores are based solely on publicly available data collected at the time of publication. These rankings reflect the market landscape at the time of publication.
