We are looking for an Editor with a good sense of what makes an interesting angle to a story to juggle all the moving parts of publications. You will plan, coordinate, review, and edit content. The successful candidate will decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped to meet quality and accuracy standards. The goal is to provide unique, informative, and engaging content.
What You Get to Do:
- Manages a team of writers and is responsible for curating fresh, relevant, and informative SEO optimized content
- Directs the creation of new content and helps the team craft and refine ideas, cultivate sources, report, and write SEO optimized articles on a daily basis
- Prepare, rewrite, and edit content to improve upon it
- Read the content to identify and correct spelling, grammar and syntax errors
- Brainstorm new strategies, concepts, themes, and formats as needed
- Improve illustration in collaboration with marketing and design teams
- Collaborate with freelancers and in-house writers to ensure that content satisfies editorial guidelines
- Prepare and deliver SEO optimized writing guidelines and training to the in-house and freelance writers
What You Will Bring to US:
- At least 3+ years of proven working experience in a Web Content Editor or similar role
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Surfer, Copyscape, WordPress, Keyword research, Content optimization and various other publishing tools
- Detail-oriented, creative and deadline-driven
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Proven familiarity with SEO optimized writing and social media best practices
- Leadership and coaching ability to effectively manage and train a team of writers or contributors
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Time management skills with the capability to effectively prioritize and multitask
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communication, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
