You pay a web designer before you see the finished site. That risk feels bigger when you search for website design agencies in Glasgow.
Trades, restaurants, charities, and online shops all compete for the same handful of names. Even then, website design services in Glasgow vary widely, so you can’t compare two quotes easily. A wrong pick costs months and money to undo, so choose with care.
I built this ranking to take the guesswork out of that choice. I scored 25 agencies using public data from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, and SEMrush. Reviews, traffic, team size, and pricing all feed each score.
Each agency gets the same scoring, and none paid for a place. That keeps the order honest, so you can trust where each name lands. Use the list to build a shortlist, then test each name against your own project.

Deep Dive: Full Agency Reviews
Read the details behind each score, then judge every placement for yourself.
1. Lounge Lizard — Best if you run a mid-sized or enterprise company and want one team for design, development, and marketing

- Website: loungelizard.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.77 (79 reviews)
- Team Size: 58 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 28
- Monthly Website Visits: 2,470
- Employee Review Score: 4.20 (29 reviews)
Overview
Lounge Lizard landed an early big client through a pay-per-click ad. A Nikon executive found the agency that way and handed it a large web account.
That win grew into a large team that now takes on enterprise and mid-market projects with many stakeholders.
Its builds run on WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, Magento, and Contentful, chosen to fit each project. The agency lists recognition from Awwwards and the Davey Awards.
I also see it leaning into AI search. GEO and AEO planning now sit inside its website structure and launch work.
If you run a mid-sized or enterprise company with several decision makers, it fits well. A small business on a tight budget may find the scope bigger than it needs.
Core Services
- Custom website design and redesign, with UX and UI work
- Web development on WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, Magento, and Contentful
- Ecommerce builds
- SEO, AI search optimization, and PPC
- Branding, hosting, and ongoing site support
Why They Rank #1
- It has the longest operating history on this list, a stability signal few agencies here can match.
- Website design is a bigger share of its work than at any other agency here except CreativeWeb.
- Only Phenomenon Studio has a bigger team. That leaves room to run design, development, and marketing together.
- No other agency has as many employee reviews behind its staff rating, so that rating is better evidenced.
- Price is where it gives ground. Only two agencies charge more per hour, and only Baunfire asks for a higher minimum project. Its client rating and value mark also sit below most of this list. It wins on scale and staying power, then gives some of that back on price.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Fast replies and on-time delivery dominate the feedback, followed by polished design and visible traffic gains. Concerns are small: more CMS training, quiet stretches after launch, and one launch that needed regional testing.
Our Take
Choose Lounge Lizard if you run a mid-sized or enterprise firm that wants design and marketing together. Be ready to fund a larger project. If you need a lean site on a tight budget, a smaller studio will serve you better.
2. CreativeWeb — Best if you want a fully bespoke WordPress site from a specialist team and can budget for it

- Website: cbwebsitedesign.co.uk
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.63 (114 reviews)
- Team Size: 17 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 11,774
- Employee Review Score: 3.70 (15 reviews)
Overview
CreativeWeb has quietly built a name in a few corners: aviation, golf and leisure, and charities. Its portfolio also reaches travel and health brands.
Christopher Baker founded the agency and brings long experience in web design, SEO, and digital strategy. He has worked with clients such as NATO.
The studio started small and now says it has built hundreds of bespoke sites.
It holds Google Partner status and lists an ISO badge that covers only part of the business. The agency also lists Awwwards recognition for its NATO Innovation Fund site.
If you want a fully bespoke build and can budget for it, CreativeWeb deserves a call. If you want a quick template-based site, look elsewhere, since it avoids templates.
Core Services
- Bespoke website design, including animated and interactive builds on WordPress
- Ecommerce and booking functionality
- SEO and digital marketing, including GEO
- Branding and brand guidelines
- Hosting, support, and care plans
Why They Rank #2
- Website design is a bigger part of its business than at any other agency here. That makes it one of the few true specialists on the list.
- Only The Munro Agency draws more web traffic, so it has more visibility than almost any agency here.
- Only FIZZ designs & SEO has more client reviews, so its rating is well evidenced. That rating still sits below most of the list.
- Its staff rating is the second lowest of the eight agencies that have one. That is worth a question about team stability on long projects.
- Lounge Lizard stays ahead on size and history. CreativeWeb has a team under a third as big and less than half the operating years. It is the design specialist of the top two, with a thinner bench behind it.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Timelines split the feedback a little. Most clients say milestones were met. A few saw delays they partly tied to their own slow approvals. Modern design and a knack for turning broad briefs into a coherent result draw steady praise.
Our Take
A good call for charities, leisure, and travel brands that want a bespoke WordPress build. Budget well for custom work. Skip it if you only need a basic brochure site.
3. The Munro Agency — Best if you sell to other businesses and want a site that works with your lead generation and ads

- Website: munro.agency
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.80 (21 reviews)
- Team Size: 19 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 11
- Monthly Website Visits: 38,314
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (1 review)
Overview
The Munro Agency sells mainly to B2B and professional services firms, and its case studies show it. Clients range from a translation business to an industrial door maker and a SaaS company.
Dell appears among its client logos, and a campervan company has its own web design case study. It also offers small business and start-up packages, which suit newer companies.
Its newest moves point toward AI, with AI development and AI bot work now on its service list. If you need a site that feeds a B2B lead pipeline, its marketing-first approach will serve you. If design is the whole project, a design-led studio is the better fit.
Core Services
- Website design and development, including WordPress
- B2B lead generation and outreach
- Pay-per-click advertising on Google and Meta
- SEO, content writing, and digital PR
- Marketing automation and CRM, mainly on SharpSpring
Why They Rank #3
- Its website draws more traffic than any other agency here, more than three times the next closest.
- It ties for the best value-for-cost mark on the list. Its minimum project sits mid-pack, so starting costs are easier to plan.
- Website design is a small share of its work, below the list median. Design is not the main thing you would be buying.
- Its perfect staff rating comes from a single employee review, so it says little about working conditions.
- Its client review pool is well under a third of Lounge Lizard’s or CreativeWeb’s. That keeps it below them. It is the strongest traffic and value story here, and a weaker design story.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The review set is thin. One client, a glowing one, credits growth in traffic, leads, and sales plus quick work. A single review cannot show a pattern, so treat the praise as encouraging, not proven.
Our Take
Right for a B2B company that wants its website tied to lead generation, ads, and automation. Wrong for a design-led or brand-heavy build, where a design specialist will do more for you.
4. Atomic Digital Marketing / Atomic Digital Labs — Best if you want your site built alongside SEO, ads, and AI tools by one team

- Website: atomicdigitalmarketing.co.uk
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.37 (109 reviews)
- Team Size: 40 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 8
- Monthly Website Visits: 6,341
- Employee Review Score: 4.60 (5 reviews)
Overview
Atomic Digital Marketing has built a digital gift card for Clarks and a site for Finer Aviation.
Its stated rule is “radical honesty”. It frames its approach around clear communication and no padded retainers.
The agency lists a recent Clutch top agency title. It also lists a UK Search Awards finalist spot. AI is its newest push. Strategy, custom development, chatbots, and automation now sit beside SEO, ads, and web design.
If you want one team to run your site and your marketing together, it makes sense. If your project is only a design build, a more design-focused studio may suit you better.
Core Services
- Website design and development on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and custom platforms
- SEO and technical SEO
- PPC, paid social, and email marketing
- Branding, logo design, and app design
- AI strategy, agents, chatbots, and automation
Why They Rank #4
- Only FIZZ designs & SEO and CreativeWeb have more client reviews, so its ratings are well evidenced.
- It places third for both traffic and team size, a balanced footprint most small studios cannot match.
- Website design is a small share of its work, well below Lounge Lizard or CreativeWeb. Expect a marketing team that also builds sites.
- Its client rating is the lowest on this list. It rests on plenty of reviews, so it is a real signal, not noise.
- That, more than size, keeps it below the leaders. It has leader-level capacity and reach, held back by client feedback.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
People matter as much as results in these reviews. Clients name account managers who answer outside office hours, then credit traffic and lead gains. The gripes are small: fresher creative ideas, a clearer timeline view, and cost, which scored lowest.
Our Take
A fit when one team should handle your site, SEO, and ads on a modest starting budget. Skip it if you want a design-first studio. Ask for recent client references, and judge its creative ideas on the first call.
5. Phenomenon Studio — Best if you are building a SaaS, health, or fintech product and need design that developers can build from

- Website: phenomenonstudio.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.93 (85 reviews)
- Team Size: 79 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 3,958
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Phenomenon Studio rebuilt a legacy assessment platform for Isora and redesigned the Wisdom healthtech app.
Two product designers, Valerii Filimonov and Polina Chebanova, started the studio. It began as a small startup shop taking freelance projects, and early clients stayed as the team grew.
The studio says client work goes to senior specialists, not juniors. That is a claim you can test on a discovery call.
I would point SaaS, health, and fintech teams to it first, since those are the sectors it names. A local shop wanting a simple brochure site would pay for more product thinking than it needs.
Core Services
- Website design and redesign
- Web and mobile app design, including UI and UX
- Web, mobile, and custom software development
- Product discovery and UX audits
- MVP development and dedicated development teams
Why They Rank #5
- Its team is the largest on this list. That leaves room to run design, development, and testing in parallel.
- No other top-ten agency has a higher client rating. Its review pool is the sixth deepest here, so the praise is not a small-sample effect.
- It charges half the hourly rate of the four agencies above it. Yet its minimum project matches Lounge Lizard’s and CreativeWeb’s. You pay less per hour but still need a large budget to start.
- Its operating history is its weakest scoring field, since it is younger than most of the list. A small design focus adds to that and keeps it below the established leaders.
- Best reviewed of the top ten and cheaper per hour, but still a big check to start.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Almost every review glows, built around responsiveness, on-time delivery, and design that fits each client’s identity. Complaints are small: time zone friction, a wish for longer post-launch support, and one scope-driven budget overrun.
Our Take
Pick it for a SaaS, health, or fintech product that needs design a developer team can build from. Plan a budget that covers a larger starting project. A local business that needs a simple site will be better served by a smaller studio.
6. FIZZ designs & SEO — Best if you are a small B2B company and want design, SEO, and content from one team at a low starting cost

- Website: fizzdesigns.co.uk
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.80 (117 reviews)
- Team Size: 5 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 22
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,554
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
FIZZ designs & SEO lists several business awards for web design and SEO. It also appears on best-rated agency lists. Its pitch is that a website should be a commercial growth engine, not an online brochure.
In-house content creators and a graphic designer help it deliver that. Photography, video, and branding can sit under one roof.
One case study covers a website for KG Business Services, an accountancy and bookkeeping firm. It serves B2B firms across the UK and has taken on a few overseas projects.
If you are a small B2B company that wants design, SEO, and content together, it fits. If you need a large multi-market build, look to a bigger team.
Core Services
- WordPress and WooCommerce website design
- Local, on-page, and technical SEO
- Branding and graphic design
- Photography, video, and drone content
- Hosting, domains, and IT support
Why They Rank #6
- No agency on this list has more client reviews, so its rating is the best evidenced. The rating itself sits below most of the list.
- Website design is a real part of its work, sixth highest by focus. Only two agencies have operated longer.
- It ties for the best value-for-cost mark and for the lowest entry cost on the list. Its hourly rate is also below the list median.
- Capacity is its weakest field. With a team this small, large or overlapping projects will queue.
- That small team and a below-average client rating keep it out of the top five. It offers the best evidence and a rock-bottom entry price, with the capacity of a small studio.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
A small-business owner credits FIZZ with stronger sales and a larger contract. The same reviewer praises weekly check-ins and unbilled extras. That is the only Clutch review, so weigh it lightly.
Our Take
A smart pick for a small B2B firm that wants a low-cost site, SEO, and content together. Wrong for a big multi-market project that needs many people at once. In that case, look to a larger team.
7. Baunfire — Best if you run a funded tech or SaaS company and want a website-first partner for a large project

- Website: baunfire.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $75,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (93 reviews)
- Team Size: 32 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 25
- Monthly Website Visits: 583
- Employee Review Score: 4.40 (2 reviews)
Overview
Baunfire has built corporate websites for Karat, Cellares, Lumana, and Ambi Robotics.
Most of those names are technology companies, where the website carries much of the sales story. A site there has to explain a complex product fast.
The team lists humility, attention to detail, and celebrating wins among its values. It also looks for self-starters who work hard.
Its blog shows where it is heading: AI-driven growth, conversion-rate work, and SaaS redesigns. That suggests it treats a site as a sales tool.
If you run a funded SaaS or tech company and want a website-first partner, it deserves a call. If you only need a simple site, you would pay for more than you need.
Core Services
- Website design and development
- UX and UI design
- Creative marketing assets
- Digital strategy and consulting
- Website redesigns for tech and SaaS companies
Why They Rank #7
- Only Lounge Lizard has operated longer, so it carries one of the deepest track records here.
- Website design is a big share of its work, third highest by focus. Its team is the fourth largest on the list.
- Cost is its limit. It ties for the highest hourly rate and asks for the biggest minimum project by a wide margin. Clients also rate its value lower than almost every other agency here.
- Its staff rating rests on two reviews, so it says little about working conditions.
- Modest traffic and the highest entry price keep it below the agencies above it. It is the premium option on this list, and it prices like one.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Design that stands out and projects that run on schedule lead the praise. Clear sprints and quick feedback loops get a mention too. The recurring gripe comes after launch: bugs, slow fixes, and late add-on costs.
Our Take
Choose it for a large website project at a funded tech or SaaS company. A premium partner is worth the price there. Pass if you want a small or budget build. A lower-cost specialist will serve you better.
8. LBD Studio — Best if your site is part of a wider rebrand and you want senior creatives working on it directly

- Website: lbd.studio
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.83 (68 reviews)
- Team Size: 7 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 95
- Employee Review Score: 4.00 (1 review)
Overview
LBD Studio handled the communications rebrand for Stripe and built the website and rebrand for Blackadders. Its client list also covers media and not-for-profit work.
Liam Bonar founded the studio, and it describes its team as small and senior.
It belongs to the Good Business Charter and has signed the Conscious Ad Network and Clean Creatives pledges.
It also publishes Think Tank articles on brand strategy and runs Studio Sessions interviews with designers.
If your website is part of a wider rebrand, it makes sense. If you only need a standalone site build, a web-focused studio will be a closer match.
Core Services
- Website design for brand-led projects
- Brand identity and design systems
- Brand strategy and naming
- Campaigns, copywriting, video, and illustration
- Print, packaging, and editorial design
Why They Rank #8
- It ties for the best value-for-cost mark on the list. Its hourly rate is below the list median, and its minimum project sits mid-list.
- Its client review pool is the eighth deepest here. That backs a rating that sits below the middle of the list.
- Web traffic is its weakest field. Its site draws less than most of the list, so few buyers will find it through search.
- A short history and a small team keep it out of the top five. Capacity and track record are still thin. It offers good value and clean reviews from a young, small team.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Three five-star reviews say the studio grasps a brief quickly and gives clients one main contact. Polished brand and web work arrives on time. No one complains, and the only delays came from clients slow to send content. Small sample, uniformly warm.
Our Take
A good fit when the site belongs to a rebrand and you want senior creatives close by. Wrong if you only need a quick web build. A lean web studio will move faster.
9. U1CORE — Best if you are launching a platform, marketplace, or fintech product and need design and build in one team

- Website: u1core.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.83 (99 reviews)
- Team Size: 16 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 13
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
U1CORE has built an aerospace recruitment platform for EVONA and rebranded the airline FlyStraightLine. Another case study covers a Finnish heavy engineering firm.
Its web work runs on Webflow and WordPress, with design systems and UI and UX behind it. Projects move from discovery to architecture, then to design and build.
Taras Oliinyk is CEO, and the agency says its clients span several continents. AI product development and AEO content strategy now sit on its service list.
If you are launching a platform, marketplace, or fintech product, it fits. If you want a simple brochure site, the product-heavy process may be more than you need.
Core Services
- Website design, landing pages, and UI and UX
- Webflow and WordPress development
- Marketplace and platform design
- Design system development
- AI product development and AEO content
Why They Rank #9
- It charges half the hourly rate that more than half of this list charges. Its minimum project sits at the list median, so time-based work costs less per hour.
- Its client review pool is the fourth deepest here, so its ratings hold up under scrutiny.
- Website design is a meaningful part of the mix, joint seventh highest by focus. That is above the list median.
- Web traffic is its weakest field. The site draws almost nothing, among the lowest on the list, so there is little organic visibility.
- A short history and low visibility keep it below the established studios above it. It offers reliable value and a deep review base.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients single out deadlines met and risks flagged early, backed by UX research that goes beyond the brief. Concerns are rare and minor: long discovery phases, looser timelines, and some scope creep the team raised openly. Nearly all feedback is five-star, so expect some skew.
Our Take
Right for a platform, marketplace, or fintech launch that needs product thinking, design, and build together. Wrong for a simple brochure site, where its product-heavy process would be overkill. Ask for a written scope first.
10. Alba SEO Services — Best if you are a small business that wants search traffic and web design on a small budget

- Website: albaseoservices.co.uk
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.83 (60 reviews)
- Team Size: 2 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 5,055
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Alba SEO Services works mainly with small local businesses: trades, retail, and small service firms. Its named clients include Hero Locksmith, Pure Cleaning Scotland, and CAS Hire.
The process starts with a free quote and a website review. A manual audit that takes several hours follows, and clients on a campaign get monthly reports.
It meets clients face to face where it can. It also prefers manual audits to free online tools. The agency lists an article in The Scotsman.
If you are a small business that wants search traffic and a straight answer, it fits. If you need a large custom build, look for a design-first studio.
Core Services
- Web design for small business sites
- Search engine optimization and keyword research
- Technical SEO audits
- Local SEO and link building
- Social media and pay-per-click advertising
Why They Rank #10
- Only three agencies draw more web traffic, and it does so with one of the smallest teams here.
- It ties for the best value-for-cost mark. It also ties for the lowest minimum project size, which makes it easy to start with. Its hourly rate is below the list median.
- Design is a small share of its work, below the list median. This is an SEO shop that also builds sites.
- A team this small limits capacity, so it fits small projects better than big builds. That keeps it below the larger specialists.
- It is a low-cost entry point with real search visibility, as long as your project is small.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Seven five-star reviews, mostly from small business owners, praise plain-language SEO explanations and monthly reports. Clients also say the team avoids overpromising. They report better rankings and more inquiries, and note that SEO takes time. Nobody reports a problem.
Our Take
A solid choice for a small business that wants honest SEO and a website on a small budget. Wrong for a large or complex build, or any project that needs many people at once.
11. Parachute — Best if you are a charity, arts group, or small business and want a managed website with a clear starting price

- Website: parachute.net
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (13 reviews)
- Team Size: 10 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 858
- Employee Review Score: 2.00 (1 review)
Overview
Parachute is a small team, and clients deal directly with the people who build their sites.
Its client mix covers businesses, charities, and arts organizations. A Spektrix ticketing integration on its service list points to arts venues. Its site also points to a build for the BBC.
The team holds Google Partner status. It builds on WordPress, Umbraco, Magento, and Shopify. The platform follows your project, not the other way around.
It also posts a starting price and an average build time. That lets you judge fit before you book a call.
If you want a managed website with clear terms, it fits. If you need a long review trail before signing, ask for references first.
Core Services
- Custom website design and development
- E-commerce builds and website redesigns
- SEO and paid search
- Branding, graphic design, and email marketing
- Ongoing maintenance, updates, and backups
Why They Rank #11
- Website design is half of what it does, the fourth highest focus on the list. Few agencies here center so much on websites.
- Cost sits mid-pack, with both hourly rate and minimum project at the list median. Clients give value for money the top mark, though most of the list shares it.
- Staff feedback is its weakest field. The employee score is the lowest of the eight agencies that have one. A single review stands behind it, so treat it as a flag, not a verdict.
- Thin evidence keeps it below the agencies above it. Its review pool is shallower than most here, and its rating only matches the list median. Traffic and team size are solid but cannot offset that.
- It is a website specialist at fair prices, held back by a thin record.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Non-technical clients feel looked after here. They mention plain-language answers, quick replies, and a site they can edit alone, plus visible SEO gains. No complaints appear, though the sample is small.
Our Take
Pick it for an arts group, charity, or small business that wants a managed site with clear terms. Skip it if you need a deep review history before signing. Ask for reference calls either way.
12. Extra Profit Marketing — Best if you run a Polish-owned business and want websites and ads handled in Polish with no long contract

- Website: extraprofitmarketing.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (57 reviews)
- Team Size: 3 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 9
- Monthly Website Visits: 32
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Extra Profit Marketing works in Polish for Polish-owned businesses in the UK. Its clients span construction, furniture, and hospitality. Named ones include PD Rendering, EWI Specialists, and Magic Broom.
Each month, clients get a summary of the work done and an invoice. There is no long lock-in, and clients can leave at any time.
The team holds Google Partner status and a Google Shopping Ads certification. Its online stores run on WooCommerce or Shopify.
If you run a Polish-owned business and want one team for your site, ads, and store, it fits. If design is your main need, a design-first studio will give you more depth.
Core Services
- Custom website design and development
- Online stores on WooCommerce and Shopify
- Google Ads and social media advertising
- SEO, copywriting, and video content
- Branding and graphic design
Why They Rank #12
- Its hourly rate ties for the lowest on the list. Only one other agency charges so little.
- Clients still give value for money the top mark, which most of the list also earns. A low rate does not signal poor value.
- Website design is a small share of its work, below the list median. This is a marketing shop that also builds sites.
- Web traffic is its weakest field. It sits among the lowest on the list, so few buyers will find it through search.
- A small design focus, a small team, and low visibility keep it out of the top ten. It is a cheap, well-reviewed option for small projects, but hard to find.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The one public suggestion is to push SEO harder. Otherwise the single Clutch reviewer, a construction firm, reports friendly service and detailed monthly reports. Its website still works years later. One review is a story, not a trend.
Our Take
A fit for a Polish-owned business that wants a site, ads, and a store without a long contract. A poor fit if design is your main need or you want to vet an agency through search.
13. Teckle Digital — Best if you are a local business and want search-led growth with a website from a long-running, very small team

- Website: teckledigital.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (17 reviews)
- Team Size: 1 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 20
- Monthly Website Visits: 2,224
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Teckle Digital works mostly with local businesses. Logos on its site include JCFitness and KG Keys, and its examples span hospitality, locksmiths, and fitness.
New clients start with a free consultation. The team follows with a spreadsheet analysis and a strategy blueprint.
It is a very small team that stresses clear communication. Websites run on Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, or Laravel.
It has also added AI optimization to its search offer, which shows where its search work is heading.
If you are a local business that wants search-led growth with a site, it fits. If you need many hands on a large build, it does not.
Core Services
- Website design and development
- Local and national SEO
- Shopify SEO and Google penalty recovery
- Google Business Profile optimization
- Google Ads, email, and content marketing
Why They Rank #13
- Only three agencies have operated longer, and its traffic is the seventh highest. It has staying power and real visibility.
- Its hourly rate is half the list median, and its minimum project ties for the lowest. Clients give value for money the top mark, which most of the list also earns.
- A perfect client rating is shared with seven other agencies. It rests on a review pool below the list median.
- Team size is its weakest field. LinkedIn shows one person, tied for the lowest on the list, so capacity is the clear limit. The real team may be larger, but this is the only size signal we have.
- Capacity and a modest review base keep it out of the top ten. It is a veteran with low prices and the capacity of one.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
What stands out is how little there is to read. A cosmetics business on one review site says the team beat the brief and lifted its rankings. Nothing negative appears, and nothing deeper does either.
Our Take
Consider it for a local business that wants search-led growth and a site. A long track record is its strength. Look elsewhere if you need a team for a large build or several projects at once.
14. Marketing Mavens — Best if you are a B2B company and want a website, ads, and automation from one team at premium rates

- Website: marketingmavens.co.uk
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (11 reviews)
- Team Size: 6 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 12
- Monthly Website Visits: 192
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (1 review)
Overview
Marketing Mavens aims at B2B companies. Named clients include Keenan Recycling and TS Europe.
New clients start with a free audit and a discovery call. A tailored proposal follows, then project kickoff and tracked reporting.
The team is trained through the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Its site shows Google Partner and Shopify Plus Partner badges.
It is also leaning into AI, with Generative Engine Optimization, chatbots, and voice agents on the list. A new ROI calculator sits beside them.
If you are a B2B firm that wants a site, ads, and automation from one team, it fits. If you want a lean, low-cost build, look elsewhere.
Core Services
- Mobile-first web design on WordPress or custom stacks
- E-commerce, redesigns, and landing pages
- SEO and content marketing
- Paid ads across Google, Meta, and LinkedIn
- AI services and CRM automation
Why They Rank #14
- Clients give a perfect rating, but only five agencies have fewer reviews behind theirs. That makes the score encouraging, not proven.
- Cost is the barrier. Its hourly rate ties for the highest on the list. Only Baunfire asks for a larger minimum project. Clients still give value for money the top mark, though most of the list shares it.
- Team, history, and traffic all sit at or just above the middle of the list. There is no weak spot and no standout.
- The perfect staff score rests on one review, so it says little about working conditions.
- Price and a thin review base keep it below cheaper agencies of similar standing. It is a mid-sized, mid-visibility firm that charges top-tier rates.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
One client gave the top mark on value. The same client credits the team with better rankings after a site update. The agency’s own site points to a handful of Google reviews, too few to show a pattern.
Our Take
Right for a B2B company that wants a site, ads, and automation together and can pay premium rates. Wrong if the budget is tight. A smaller studio or an SEO-first shop will cost less.
15. Vecro Tech — Best if you are a local trade or service firm and want a lead-focused site with one agency per industry in your area

- Website: vecro.tech
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.67 (40 reviews)
- Team Size: 2 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 10
- Monthly Website Visits: 112
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Vecro Tech takes one client per industry in each area. That rule shapes its pitch to local trades and service firms. Clients include David James Chauffeur, GLD Security, and Trinity Roofing.
The terms are plain. It says there are no hidden fees or subscriptions. All work transfers to the client, and a contract-free option exists.
Each project starts with free market research. After that, clients get monthly reports and catch-up meetings. The agency also promises a fast reply on business days.
If you run a local trade or service firm and want exclusivity, it fits. If you want a design-led brand build, look elsewhere, since its focus leans toward leads and apps.
Core Services
- Responsive website design and e-commerce builds
- Mobile app development
- Bespoke software development
- SEO
- Pay-per-click advertising
Why They Rank #15
- Website design is a minor part of its mix, among the lowest shares on the list.
- Entry costs are low. The minimum project ties for the lowest, and the hourly rate is half the list median. Clients give value for money the top mark, which most of the list also earns.
- Client rating is its weakest field, with only three agencies rating lower. Many reviews back it, the eleventh deepest pool here, so it is well evidenced, not thin.
- A team of two limits capacity, and traffic sits below the list median.
- A small team, light traffic, and a below-average rating keep it below the agencies above it. Price is its main selling point.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Most of the public praise covers app work, not websites, and all of it dates from 2021. Clients value quick replies, flexibility, and plain explanations. The few concerns are minor, such as messages lost between a client’s contact and the developers.
Our Take
A sensible pick for a trade or service firm that wants lead-focused marketing and exclusivity in its area. Wrong for a design-led brand build or a buyer who needs recent reviews.
Disclosure: Our recommendations include both locally headquartered agencies and offshore firms that provide services in this region. Some agencies featured do not maintain a physical office here but have an established track record of delivering services to clients in the area.
How to Find the Right Website Design Agency for Your Business
I scored 25 agencies for this list, and the strong ones share a few habits. Use these checks on any website design company in Glasgow you are weighing.
1. Look for Proof in the Portfolio
Good web design shows in the details, so open the portfolio and look for sites like yours. Sector fit only counts when real projects back it up. Check that live examples load fast and work on a phone. Then ask for one client you can call.
2. Get Pricing in Writing
Published 2026 guides price small-business sites at roughly £1,200 to £5,000. Larger agency builds start near £5,000.
Those are pounds, so don’t compare them with the dollar minimums in our profiles. Ask each agency what its quote covers, then check it with a cost calculator.
3. Test Their SEO Thinking
Ask how the agency plans for SEO before launch, not after. Buyers often search by platform, like WordPress or Shopify plus Glasgow.
That makes the platform choice part of how people find you, so ask why they recommend theirs. A good answer also covers page speed and Core Web Vitals.
4. Judge How They Communicate
Several agencies on this list work from other countries and may bill in dollars. Ask about overlap with UK working hours and whether quotes are in pounds plus VAT. A discovery call shows how clearly they explain things and how fast they reply.
5. Match the Team to the Project
A small brochure site may suit a freelancer or a website builder. An ecommerce store or bespoke build needs a team, including UI/UX Design skills.
Stores can start with ecommerce website design companies. Ask who will work on your project, and what happens if that person leaves.
6. Weigh Local Expertise
Edinburgh is under an hour away by rail, so Glasgow buyers can weigh agencies from both cities. Local know-how matters more than an address, so ask for examples of work for Glasgow customers. Check that they know your local competitors and what your customers search for.
What to Avoid When Hiring a Website Design Agency
Most bad hires start with a small shortcut that feels sensible. The mistakes below are the ones that cost buyers money or traffic later.
1. Choosing on Price Alone
A low quote looks safe until the extras arrive. VAT, hosting, licenses, care plans, and domain renewals often show up late.
Ask for the full first-year cost in writing. Then compare quotes on that total, not the headline price. Our website design cost study adds context.
2. Leaving SEO Until After Launch
Searchers type queries like “website design Glasgow” instead of “near me.” A site built without those searches in mind can look great and stay invisible. Local SEO belongs in the brief from day one. Ask for a page and keyword plan before design starts.
3. Skipping the Redesign Safety Check
A redesign can wipe out the rankings your old site earned. If you already have a site, ask how the agency will map old URLs to new ones. Analytics should be set up first, or you lose the data to judge the move.
4. Judging a Portfolio by Looks Alone
A polished portfolio tells you little about results. Good-looking sites can still miss inquiries because of slow pages, weak tracking, or vague calls to action. Ask what changed for each client after launch.
5. Not Checking Reviews and Listings Closely
Directories often blur “based in Glasgow” with “serves Glasgow.” That means a listing alone won’t show how a team works. Read recent reviews on more than one platform. Look for patterns, such as delays or surprise costs.
6. Overlooking Mobile and Accessibility
Many visitors will open your site on a phone, so test every example on one. Charities, schools, and public bodies also need accessibility and GDPR handled properly. Ask how the agency checks both before launch.
7. Not Asking Who Owns the Site
Low upfront subscription builds can lock you out of your domain, source files, and hosting. Ask who owns each one before you sign. You want the domain in your name and a way to leave with your files.
8. Having No Plan for After Launch
A site needs updates, backups, and fixes long after launch. Buyers worry about support once the project ends, so a clear aftercare plan stands out. Ask for a written maintenance plan with response times and a price.
Making the Right Decision
Use this ranking of website design agencies in Glasgow to narrow the field. It can’t make the final call for you. Start with the top names, then read the profiles that match your budget and project size.
Many agencies here are SEO or marketing firms where design is one service among several. That suits you if you want to search and design together. It can also mean less design depth, so check each portfolio against your own project.
The rest is up to you. A discovery call shows how a team thinks. A written quote shows what you will really pay.
We built this list at OLW to make that first cut easier. For a wider view, browse web design agencies across the UK. Aberdeen and London have their own lists too. Take your shortlist into those calls, and choose the team that answers your questions plainly.
Behind the Rankings: Our Evaluation Process
Why This Ranking Is Different
Most agency roundups lean on editorial opinion, self-reported claims, or paid placement. This ranking works differently. It uses one repeatable scoring framework. Every agency goes through it the same way, wherever it is based.
We call these companies website design agencies serving Glasgow, not only agencies in Glasgow. The list includes locally based, national, and offshore firms.
Physical location is not a ranking factor, and no agency earns extra points for being local. No agency paid for inclusion or a higher position.
The score uses numbers only. Service pages, portfolios, case studies, notable clients, awards, and certifications help us write each profile. Those findings do not add or subtract points unless they match one of the weighted metrics below.
Where Your Data Comes From
We collected the data independently during 2026. SEMrush gave us estimated monthly website traffic, so that figure is an estimate. Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Google Business Profile, and Trustpilot supplied client ratings and review counts.
Glassdoor and Indeed supplied employee ratings and review volume. LinkedIn gave us agency team size. Agency websites and other public sources covered services, pricing, hourly rates, minimum project size, and business history.
We also reviewed service pages, portfolios, case studies, public client examples, awards, partnerships, and certifications. This confirmed each agency’s website design capabilities and gave context for the profiles.
Unless represented by one of the weighted metrics below, these qualitative findings do not affect the numerical score.
The Five Dimensions That Shape Your Rankings
Each agency is scored across five weighted areas. Positive categories add points, while pricing metrics apply deductions for higher cost barriers.
1. Website Design Focus & Value Assessment (20%)
This category measures how central website design is to the agency. It also covers how clients rate the value they got for the cost.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Design Focus | 10% | Website design appeared as a core agency service |
| Client Rating for Cost | 10% | Average cost/value rating from selected review platforms |
Agencies gain when website design is a real part of their business. They also gain when clients report strong value for money.
2. Brand Authority (45%)
Brand Authority measures visibility, scale, and operating history.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Traffic | 20% | Higher estimated SEMrush traffic contributed more points |
| LinkedIn Team Size | 15% | Larger teams contributed more points |
| Years in Business | 10% | Longer operating histories contributed more points |
These metrics compare market presence, delivery capacity, and operating stability. A larger agency is not automatically a better one.
3. Client Satisfaction (30%)
This category combines rating quality with review volume.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Client Rating | 15% | Combined ratings from selected review platforms |
| Total Client Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume contributed more confidence to the score |
A high rating backed by many reviews counts for more than the same rating from a few.
4. Employee Satisfaction (25%)
Employee sentiment adds a signal about organizational stability.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Employee Rating | 10% | Average rating from Glassdoor and Indeed |
| Number of Employee Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume reduced the influence of very small samples |
Both the rating and the number of employee reviews matter. A strong score from a handful of reviews counts for less than the same score from many.
5. Cost Accessibility Adjustment (-20%)
This is the only category that subtracts points.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Hourly Rate | -10% | Higher hourly rates received larger deductions |
| Minimum Project Cost | -10% | Higher entry costs reduced accessibility scores |
This does not mean expensive agencies deliver worse work. It only accounts for how accessible each agency is across a wider range of budgets. Both figures are in US dollars, so pound prices from UK agencies are not directly comparable.
How the Final Score Works
Each metric is normalized, weighted, and combined into a score out of 100. Positive metrics contribute up to 120 points. A Cost Accessibility Adjustment can deduct up to 20 points based on hourly rate and minimum project cost.
No single metric decides an agency’s ranking. Larger agencies may gain from stronger traffic, team size, or longevity. Smaller agencies may do better on client satisfaction, employee sentiment, website design focus, value, or affordability.
Only the weighted metrics affect rankings. Awards, clients, partnerships, certifications, and case studies may appear in agency profiles. So may portfolio quality, local presence, technical expertise, proprietary processes, and media mentions. None of these changes a score on its own.
This framework allows consistent comparisons across agencies of different sizes, pricing models, and market positions.
Disclosure: All rankings and scores are based solely on publicly available data collected at the time of publication. These rankings reflect the market landscape at the time of publication. Although individual metrics may change over time, the evaluation framework prioritizes long-term capability signals, making major ranking fluctuations unlikely.
