Search for Louisville website design agencies and you get a long list of names. Listing sites mix local firms with firms from other states, so the list feels crowded.
That crowd makes sense when you look at the market. Most firms in the region are small, so many agencies chase the same buyers. Each one pitches a different strength, from branding to online stores to custom builds.
A crowded market makes a quick pick risky. A polished site that brings in no leads still costs you money, and a rebuild costs more.
So I ranked 20 Louisville website design companies on one scoring model. The data comes from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, Trustpilot, and SEMrush.
Every agency is judged by the same rules, so no one gets a free pass. Use the list below to find the team that fits your budget and project.

Deep Dive: Full Reviews of Every Agency on the List
The detail behind each score, so you can judge for yourself.
1. Creekmore Marketing — Best if you run a small business and want a hire backed by the deepest review record on this list.

- Website: creekmoremarketing.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.95 (264 reviews)
- Team Size: 45 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,242
- Employee Review Score: 3.30 (5 reviews)
Overview
Creekmore Marketing builds sites for small businesses, and its founding story explains why. Founder Chelsea Stamper watched her family’s small business struggle with advertising. She started the agency to close that gap for owners like them.
Website packages come in tiers. A landing page suits a new business, while larger tiers add more pages. A custom build covers sites with heavy content or special features.
Public sector work shows up too. Woodford County Library used the team for a full redesign. It praised how easy the new site is to use.
The team also sets firm rules. It offers no long-term contracts and takes no clients who compete with each other. It reports on leads, not impressions, so the results tie to your bottom line.
Small local owners fit best. For a complex custom build, a design-led agency may suit you better. Website work is one service among several here.
Core Services
- Website design, from landing pages to custom builds
- SEO and SEO-focused web design
- Pay-per-click advertising
- Social media and review marketing
- Logo design, branding, and email marketing
Why They Rank #1
- Its client review base is more than three times the size of the next one on this list. That volume makes its rating the most dependable one in the ranking.
- The team is second only to Flypaper in size. Projects can run in parallel instead of waiting on one designer.
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. Its entry point sits at the bottom of this list, which is rare among larger teams.
- Its employee score is the weakest part of the profile. With only a few staff reviews behind it, it hints at possible turnover on long projects, not proof.
- Website design is a small slice of what it does. A design-focused agency may beat it on pure web work.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clutch holds a single review, so the public record there is thin. That client, a school owner, praised the calm guidance and branding that matched their vision. The school later filled its classes and built a waitlist. The schedule drew their lowest mark.
Our Take
Pick Creekmore if you run a small business and want deep reviews at a low entry price. Skip it if your site needs a heavy custom build led by design strategy.
2. DBS Interactive — Best if you sell B2B, industrial, or healthcare services and need a site that meets accessibility rules.

- Website: dbswebsite.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (8 reviews)
- Team Size: 26 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 27
- Monthly Website Visits: 5,022
- Employee Review Score: 3.45 (27 reviews)
Overview
DBS Interactive works mostly with B2B, industrial, and healthcare brands. It serves clients from several regional offices. That gives it wider reach than most single-office shops on this list.
Methods Machine Tools shows the kind of work it does. The agency rebuilt the site for this CNC machine tool distributor to make it leaner and faster.
Accessibility is a visible strength. The agency lists audits and fixes for existing sites as a service. Its About page also shows logos from accessibility groups.
The team calls itself a partner, not just a vendor. Its stated beliefs lean on service, kindness, and clear reporting on goals.
Industrial and healthcare buyers will feel at home here. A small shop that needs only a simple brochure site may pay for more depth than it needs.
Core Services
- Website, microsite, and UX/UI design
- Web and app development on WordPress, Drupal, Craft CMS, and Sitecore
- SEO and AI visibility (GEO)
- Website accessibility audits and fixes
- Digital marketing, including PPC, content, and email
Why They Rank #2
- Its own site draws more than three times the traffic of any other agency on this list. Few firms here show that kind of search reach.
- It has the longest track record in the ranking. That points to staying power through several shifts in how websites are built.
- Website design is a larger share of its work than at the agency above it. Its hourly rate also sits at the low end of the range.
- Its staff score is average, though the sample is large enough to trust. Expect a steady team, not a standout one.
- The client rating rests on far fewer reviews than the leader’s, so the proof of satisfaction is thinner. That gap is what keeps it second.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Clients mention weekly check-ins, quick answers, and an easy portal for change requests. Several have stayed for years, and one still hosts with the agency long after launch. No negatives stand out, but most reviews are dated. Recent feedback is thin.
Our Take
Hire DBS if you run an industrial, B2B, or healthcare site that must meet accessibility rules. It also suits teams that want to show up in AI search. Look elsewhere for a budget brochure site.
3. Flypaper Digital Marketing — Best if you run a local service business and want one team to build, run, and maintain your site.

- Website: customerswhostick.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.70 (25 reviews)
- Team Size: 71 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 931
- Employee Review Score: 3.35 (74 reviews)
Overview
Flypaper has an unusual start. The idea began as napkin sketches during a snowy airport layover. A family-owned media company, WEHCO, backed it.
Its website offer is a bundle. Beyond design, you get a dedicated campaign specialist, local listings management, call tracking, hosting, and monthly upkeep.
Partner badges back the tech side. Flypaper shows Google Partner, Duda, and HubSpot credentials. Its site does not explain how it uses each platform.
Journey Warehousing and Logistics is one named example. The agency handled web design and optimization for that company.
Contractors, HVAC, roofing, and legal firms are its usual clients. Prices are not listed. Expect a quote call before you see numbers.
Core Services
- Website design and optimization
- Search and AI search optimization
- Google Ads and Local Service Ads
- Branding advertising across social, video, display, and connected TV
- HubSpot CRM consulting
Why They Rank #3
- It has the largest team on this list, so several projects can run side by side without delay.
- More staff have rated it than any other agency here. That makes its employee score the most reliable one in the ranking. It sits in the middle, which means average stability.
- Its hourly rate matches the low end of the list. The project minimum, though, is five times that of the two agencies above it.
- Its client rating is the lowest among the top ten. That, plus the higher entry cost, is what keeps it behind the top two.
- Website design is only a fifth of its mix. Expect a marketing partner that builds sites, not a pure design studio.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Reviewers name their account reps and keep returning to speed. Requests get handled fast, even urgent ones. Clients also like not worrying about the site once Flypaper manages it. One notes the pace can be hard to match in busy periods.
Our Take
Choose Flypaper if you run a local trades or service business. It fits if you want design, ads, and upkeep from one team. Skip it if you need a low entry cost or a one-time build.
4. Post Modern Marketing — Best if you sell B2B or software and want a published, fixed-scope price for a custom site.

- Website: nowspeed.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (20 reviews)
- Team Size: 32 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 16
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,522
- Employee Review Score: 1.00 (1 review)
Overview
Post Modern Marketing now runs its site under the Nowspeed name, and its focus is B2B pipeline. Biotech, manufacturing, software, and business services make up its main client mix.
Web design follows a set path. Discovery comes first, then design, development, and testing. The agency states timing and scope up front.
Published prices are rare in this market. It publishes cost bands by site type, from brochure sites to enterprise builds, and promises a fixed scope.
Recent work leans into AI search. The agency has built playbooks for generative engine optimization alongside its search and paid work.
B2B teams with long sales cycles fit best. If you want a quick, small site, confirm the real entry price first.
Core Services
- Custom web design with WordPress and CRM integration
- SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO)
- PPC and paid social
- Content marketing and email automation
- Conversion rate optimization
Why They Rank #4
- Website design is a bigger share of its work than at any agency above it. It ties for the highest on the whole list.
- Clients rate its value for the price at 4.8 out of 5. That is just under the perfect scores several others hold.
- Its site draws the second-highest traffic on this list, behind DBS only. That points to steady search visibility.
- Employee feedback is the weak spot: the lowest rating on the list, resting on a single review. One review cannot prove a staffing problem, but it offers no reassurance either.
- A thin staff record and a review base far smaller than the leader’s keep it below the top three.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Communication and design draw the most praise. Search gains moved a law firm and others up the rankings. The criticism is mild. One prototype missed at first, replies lagged at times, and one client wanted better project records.
Our Take
Hire Post Modern if you run a B2B or software company. It fits web design tied to search and conversion goals. Think twice if you need a small, cheap site, or if staff stability matters.
5. CrowdSouth — Best if you want a responsive team and a fixed price for a clinic, school, or local organization.

- Website: crowdsouth.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (29 reviews)
- Team Size: 15 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 13
- Monthly Website Visits: 408
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (4 reviews)
Overview
CrowdSouth has built sites for clinics, tourism boards, and county offices. Graves Gilbert Clinic is one named example.
Clients get a free discovery call first. The team then scopes the work. It quotes a fixed price that holds while the scope does.
Founder Jason Heflin and owner Chad Webb lead a team of designers, developers, and ad specialists. They went remote-first after the pandemic, which opened up talent in more states.
Referrals bring in much of its work. The site also claims a long list of awards, though it does not name them.
It suits organizations that value quick replies and a personal touch. If you need a large in-house team or enterprise-scale builds, look at the bigger names above.
Core Services
- Responsive website design and maintenance
- Search marketing, including keyword research and ad testing
- Social media management
- Branding and graphic design
- Workforce marketing through CrowdBuilder
Why They Rank #5
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. That fits its low entry cost and fixed-price approach.
- Its client rating is flawless, but the review pool is modest next to the leader’s.
- Website design is a bigger share of its work than at the top three agencies. That makes it more of a web specialist.
- Traffic is the weakest field. Its site pulls a fraction of what the leaders see, so it leans on referrals more than search.
- A small team and a thin employee review pool keep it behind the agencies above it. A perfect staff score on so few reviews is a signal, not a guarantee.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Both public reviews are older, so this is a small and aging record. Clients describe quick scheduling, a team that learned their organization, and budget flexibility. One credits search ads with a big jump in calls. The only caution is keeping the personal touch as the firm grows.
Our Take
Choose CrowdSouth if you run a clinic, school, or local organization. It fits fixed prices and fast replies. Skip it if you need a big team, deep technical builds, or fresh public reviews.
6. Wayne Media Group — Best if you run a local service business and want a steady, in-person marketing partner.

- Website: waynemedia.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (66 reviews)
- Team Size: 17 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 8
- Monthly Website Visits: 387
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (5 reviews)
Overview
Wayne Media Group is built around founder Rob Johnson’s refusal to promise rankings. His message rejects guaranteed results and fixed returns. He says strategy should fit each business.
The culture follows the same plain approach. Leaders put family before business and employees first. The team also runs on the EOS framework, so client work follows a clear cycle.
It is bigger than a typical small shop. An in-house team handles web, video, and ads. An affiliate studio produces podcasts.
Most clients are local service businesses and regional brands. The agency builds only on Squarespace, and clients own their Google accounts after launch.
Owners who want a steady partner fit well. The agency works only with clients it can meet in person. Remote buyers should look elsewhere.
Core Services
- Website design and development on Squarespace
- Website maintenance plans, SEO, and local SEO
- Video, photography, and podcast production
- Google Ads, Local Service Ads, and social ads
- Social media and graphic design
Why They Rank #6
- Its hourly rate is the highest on this list, tied with two others. Cost is where it gives ground.
- Clients still rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. That suggests the higher rate buys what they expect.
- A perfect client rating sits on the third-largest review base here, so it is well supported.
- A short operating history and modest traffic keep it out of the top five. Only one agency in the top ten is younger. Its site traffic sits in the lower half of the list.
- The staff score is perfect but rests on a handful of reviews. Read it as encouraging, not proven.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Wayne Media’s reviews are short but uniformly positive. Clients cite on-time delivery, reliability, and a good fit with their values. They also report gains in leads, search rankings, and social reach. One asked for monthly check-ins and later said they were working well.
Our Take
Choose Wayne Media if you run a local service business. It fits if you want a steady partner and a Squarespace site you own. Skip it if you need a low hourly rate or a remote-only team.
7. Hatfield Media — Best if you want video and web work from one in-house team and can meet a higher project minimum.

- Website: hatfieldmedia.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $10,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.90 (68 reviews)
- Team Size: 26 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,297
- Employee Review Score: 5.00 (1 review)
Overview
Hatfield Media grew out of a video studio. It started as a multimedia production shop, then added websites, design, and marketing.
Its in-house team still includes video producers. The site calls that team Emmy winning but does not name the award.
Named clients include CRG Automation, which got a new site. Renewal by Andersen got a brand campaign.
It takes only one client per industry in a region. That promise means it will not work with your direct competitors.
A move into its own facility marked a later step in its growth.
Buyers who want video and web from one team fit well. If your budget is tight, the high project minimum will likely rule it out.
Core Services
- Custom website design and development
- Certified BigCommerce ecommerce builds
- Hosting and support on AWS
- Video production, photography, and graphic design
- Social media, SEM, and content development
Why They Rank #7
- Its project minimum is one of the two highest on this list. That narrows who can afford it.
- Its client review base is the second-largest here, so the rating carries real volume.
- Site traffic ranks fourth on the list. That is a sign of steady search visibility for a mid-sized team.
- Website design is about a third of its work, ahead of the agency right above it. Its hourly rate stays at the low end. The high minimum is the main cost hurdle.
- The staff score rests on a single review, so it says nothing about retention. That, plus the high minimum, holds the agency below the top five.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The visible reviews skew older and uniformly warm. Owners say the team respected tight budgets, explained options, and moved at their pace. One client credits better Google rankings within months. The sample shown is small, so complaints, if any, are not visible.
Our Take
Hire Hatfield if you want video and web from one in-house team. You also need to meet its higher project minimum. Skip it if your budget is small or you only need a simple site.
8. Trifecta! — Best if you are a school, nonprofit, or mid-sized organization that wants a web-first partner.

- Website: trifectaky.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (5 reviews)
- Team Size: 17 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 16
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,122
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Trifecta! was founded by Jonathan Moore and Kevin O’Dea. Moore handles operations and O’Dea leads creative.
Named clients include Georgetown College, Berea College, and Alltech. Higher education and nonprofits make up much of its visible work.
Sites are built on WordPress or Drupal and tested across browsers and devices before launch. The agency also offers updates after launch.
The site claims a perfect five-star rating from its clients. It does not show where that score comes from.
A newer AI and automation service now sits next to branding and web work.
Schools, nonprofits, and mid-sized organizations fit best. If you need a very large team or a low entry cost, compare other options.
Core Services
- Web design and development on WordPress and Drupal
- Branding and graphic design
- SEO, SEM, and retargeting
- Social media management and hosting with backups
- AI and automation
Why They Rank #8
- Website design is tied for the highest share of work on this list. That makes it a true web specialist.
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. Its hourly rate also sits at the low end, despite a mid-range project minimum.
- Site traffic is the sixth-highest on the list. Its track record sits in the upper middle. Both are solid for a mid-sized team.
- A perfect client rating rests on the smallest review base on the whole list. That thin evidence is what keeps it from ranking higher.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
All public reviews are top marks, with no complaints on record. Clients point to detail-minded work, organized projects, and quick answers when scope changes. Clients found the pricing fair for the value. Detail on outcomes is light, which limits what the praise proves.
Our Take
Pick Trifecta if you run a school, nonprofit, or mid-sized organization and want a web-first partner. Skip it if you want a deep review record or a very large team.
9. 301 Interactive Marketing — Best if you run a local service business and want a free site review before you commit.

- Website: 301interactivemarketing.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (43 reviews)
- Team Size: 10 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 17
- Monthly Website Visits: 421
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
301 Interactive Marketing treats each client as a long conversation. Its pitch leans on personal relationships and listening to what each business needs.
A free web analysis is how it opens. Prospects get a review of their site before they commit.
Case studies include The Miracle League, ASI Plumbing, and ATA College. That mix of a nonprofit, a trade business, and a school shows its range.
The site shows a Growing with Google badge. It also shows an Expertise listing as a top web developer. It does not explain the criteria for either.
Its newest focus is answer engine optimization, which helps sites appear in AI answers.
Local service firms and small nonprofits fit best. If you need a large team or a detailed build plan, ask for more detail first.
Core Services
- Website development and design
- SEO and answer engine optimization
- Website hosting and maintenance
- E-commerce solutions
- Social media, email, and PPC advertising
Why They Rank #9
- A perfect rating sits on the fifth-largest review base here, so it carries real weight.
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. Its hourly rate also sits at the low end.
- It is tied for the fourth-longest track record on the list, which adds stability.
- A small team limits how many projects it can run at once, and traffic is modest. Together with a mid-range project minimum, that keeps it below Trifecta.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The few reviews on file give a warm but more mixed read. Clients like the fast replies, regular check-ins, and last-minute flexibility. Gripes are small. Social posts felt generic, one client wanted a designer involved sooner, and an unusual project ran late.
Our Take
Try 301 Interactive if you run a local service business. It fits if you want a free site review first. Skip it if you need a large team, a documented build process, or fast scaling.
10. Tunnel Vision Design LLC — Best if you are a small organization that wants hands-on service at the lowest rates on this list.

- Website: tunnelvisiondesign.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (39 reviews)
- Team Size: 2 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 253
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Tunnel Vision Design began with two co-workers at a nonprofit. Jason Burgbacher brought programming and Chad Young brought design.
Burgbacher’s background includes work for Toyota North America and state government groups. Young now focuses on SEO.
The team works in an agile, iterative way. Weekly or biweekly calls set goals, and early prototypes keep projects moving.
Its work reaches horse auctions, resorts, catering, and health offices. That is a wide spread for a studio this size.
Each hosting plan includes design time every month. That saves a small client from buying small fixes one by one.
Small organizations that want hands-on service fit well. A project that needs a large crew or fast scaling will strain a team this size.
Core Services
- Custom WordPress website design
- Secure WordPress hosting, backups, and maintenance
- SEO and AI visibility (AEO/GEO)
- Graphic design, branding, and logos
- Google Analytics setup and reporting
Why They Rank #10
- Its hourly rate is the lowest on this list, about half what most agencies charge.
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. A low rate and a low entry point together are hard to match.
- A perfect rating rests on the seventh-largest review base here. That is solid for a firm this small.
- Website design is about a third of its work, so the focus is clear.
- The team is the smallest on the list, so capacity is limited. Its traffic and operating history are also the lowest in the top ten.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Responsiveness leads the praise, followed by one-on-one service and sites delivered on time. Many clients stay on for hosting and updates. The only caution is on the client side. One project would have moved faster with clearer requirements up front.
Our Take
Choose Tunnel Vision if you are a small organization that wants hands-on service and low rates. Skip it if your project needs a big team or has tight launch dates.
11. Makespace! — Best if you want a fully custom, accessible website from a long-running studio.

- Website: makespaceweb.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (38 reviews)
- Team Size: 15 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 20
- Monthly Website Visits: 1,345
- Employee Review Score: 2.70 (20 reviews)
Overview
Makespace! builds every site from scratch, with no templates or themes. Most run on WordPress, and some run on the studio’s own open-source hybrid system.
Royal Events shows the idea at scale. The studio built one site for five cheer and dance competition brands. It first worked out how those brands fit together.
Tourism is a quiet specialty. It has built sites for a county tourism board. It also did one for a group of commissions that share one brand.
Mark Palmer founded the studio. He also runs two sister studios, one for branding and one for AI search.
Accessibility is built in from the first wireframe. The studio has now marked two decades of work.
Organizations that want a custom build with accessibility in mind fit well. A smaller starter program exists for tighter budgets.
Core Services
- Custom web design, including e-commerce, enterprise sites, and portals
- Branding and logo design
- AI search and SEO
- Video and photography
- Hosting, support, and digital marketing
Why They Rank #11
- Its site draws the third-highest traffic on this list, which shows strong visibility for a mid-sized team.
- Only DBS has a longer track record, which points to staying power.
- A perfect client rating sits on the eighth-largest review base here. Its hourly rate also stays at the low end.
- The staff score is the second-lowest on the list. With a sizable sample behind it, that points to real turnover, which can hurt long projects. It is the main reason the agency sits here and not higher.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Repeat clients stand out most. Google reviewers praise punctual delivery and fast help after launch. They also like training that lets staff update the site themselves. Several came back for more work or referred others. The shown reviews are all top marks, so unseen criticism is possible.
Our Take
Hire Makespace if you want a fully custom, accessible site and can afford custom work. Skip it if you need a quick template site. Also skip it if staff stability matters in your vendor choice.
12. NerdBrand — Best if you want brand strategy first and a website that follows it.

- Website: nerdbrandagency.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $5,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (12 reviews)
- Team Size: 3 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 7
- Monthly Website Visits: 20
- Employee Review Score: 4.00 (1 review)
Overview
NerdBrand Agency starts with a live brand workshop. The session finds what sets a client apart before any design begins.
Jason Davis owns the agency and hosts a podcast. Podcast production also sits among its services.
Its portfolio spans attorneys, healthcare, home services, and retail. Elite Primary Care and Wellness is the one project it names.
The team says it uses AI for some copywriting, but not across all brand design and assets.
Its tagline is “Pretty is easy. Smart is hard.” Strategy comes before design.
Owners who want brand work and a site together fit well. If you need a site alone, with set packages and prices, you may want a specialist.
Core Services
- Brand strategy workshops
- Web design and development
- Marketing, social media, and SEO
- Branded media and video
- Podcast production
Why They Rank #12
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. Its hourly rate sits at the low end.
- A perfect client rating rests on a modest review base. It is encouraging but not yet proven at scale.
- Its operating history is among the shortest on the list.
- Its team and site traffic are both among the smallest here. That limits reach and capacity, and it is what keeps the agency out of the top ten.
- The staff score comes from a single review, so it says nothing yet about retention.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The reviews are warm but dated. Google reviewers describe quick answers, patient teamwork, and creative ideas beyond the brief. One retailer reports sales tripled. Complaints are absent, though the visible set is small and stops a few years back.
Our Take
Pick NerdBrand if you want brand strategy and a site from one small team. Skip it if you need a large team, a long record, or posted prices before you call.
13. Design Web — Best if you want posted prices and a fast, low-cost site for a small business or nonprofit.

- Website: designweblouisville.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 5.00 (16 reviews)
- Team Size: 10 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 14
- Monthly Website Visits: 930
- Employee Review Score: 3.75 (3 reviews)
Overview
Design Web prices its work in the open. Rates are posted, and the firm says it will match a competing quote.
It runs lean. There is no fancy office. It uses a network of developers and designers, scaled up or down per project.
Clients range from a dumpster rental company to a counseling practice and an investment advisor. Nonprofits can get at-cost help.
Every project aims to meet accessibility standards at a high level. The firm also donates web work to causes, a habit it says started early.
Small businesses and nonprofits fit best. Large companies that need a deep bench may outgrow a lean model.
Core Services
- Custom WordPress website design
- E-commerce sites
- Web maintenance, repair, and hosting
- Social media management and paid digital ads
- Graphic and logo design
Why They Rank #13
- Its entry cost sits at the lowest tier on the list. Its hourly rate also stays at the low end.
- Its site draws many times the traffic of NerdBrand, which ranks one spot higher. That gap is why the two scores sit so close.
- Website design is about a fifth of its mix. Expect a generalist shop, not a web-only studio.
- Its track record sits in the middle of the list, which is solid but not a differentiator.
- A staff score from three reviews is too thin to trust. A team of ten also limits how many projects it can run at once. That keeps it below the stronger names.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Attention to detail leads to praise. Google reviewers like the thorough handoff during a site move and the quick replies after launch. They also like goals shaped together, not dictated. One notes fair pricing on a store. All shown reviews are five stars, so hidden criticism is possible.
Our Take
Choose Design Web if you run a small business or nonprofit. It fits posted prices and a fast, low-cost site. Skip it if your project needs a large team or deep reviews on file.
14. Advirtis — Best if you are an agency or consultant that wants a white label web, SEO, and PPC partner.

- Website: advirtis.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $1,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.78 (40 reviews)
- Team Size: 17 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 5
- Monthly Website Visits: 189
- Employee Review Score: N/A
Overview
Advirtis does not sell to the public. It builds websites and runs ads and SEO for agencies, consultants, and freelancers under their brand.
That white label model shapes the pricing. Partners get discounted rates and mark them up before reselling.
Each partner gets a project manager, a UX designer, and a developer. A quality checker and an account manager round out the team.
It currently runs partner offers, such as bundled ad management and discounts for agencies adding several accounts. A free client audit is the first step.
Agencies that need extra build capacity fit best. Businesses that want a designer of their own should look elsewhere.
Core Services
- White label web design on WordPress, WooCommerce, Squarespace, and Shopify
- White label paid advertising across Google, Meta, and LinkedIn
- White label SEO and local SEO
- Fractional marketing team for agencies
- Free client audits
Why They Rank #14
- A large review base, the sixth-largest here, backs a high but not perfect rating.
- Clients rate its value for the price at the top of the scale. Its entry point sits at the low end.
- A mid-sized team gives it enough hands for steady partner work.
- It has the shortest operating history on the list, and its site traffic is low. For a business choosing a direct partner, that thin track record matters.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
The few Clutch reviews are glowing and specific. Clients cite steady staff, regular progress meetings, and search gains such as traffic that grew many times over. The one caution came from a client who noted it is not a local SEO specialist.
Our Take
Choose Advirtis if you run an agency and need white label web, SEO, and PPC capacity. Skip it if you are a business buying a site directly. You would not deal with it yourself.
15. Fieldtrip — Best if you are a nonprofit or civic group with a real budget that wants brand and web together.

- Website: wearefieldtrip.com
- Minimum Project Cost: $25,000
- Average Client Satisfaction Rating: 4.95 (22 reviews)
- Team Size: 16 (LinkedIn)
- Years in Business: 20
- Monthly Website Visits: 32
- Employee Review Score: 3.80 (8 reviews)
Overview
Fieldtrip calls itself a cause-driven agency, and nonprofits and civic groups make up much of its work. Children’s Oncology Group and a metro chamber of commerce are among its brand and web clients.
Founder Jane Pfeiffer leads a team built around four values. They are curiosity, impact, spirit, and candor.
Sites are custom WordPress builds. Clients can run them on their own or keep Fieldtrip on for upkeep.
The site claims its work has earned international notice but does not say where.
Mission-driven groups with a real budget fit best. If you need a quick, low-cost site, the entry price will rule it out.
Core Services
- Branding design and strategy
- Website design and development
- Custom WordPress and hosting
- Application design and prototyping
- Advertising
Why They Rank #15
- Its project minimum is the highest on this list, so it prices out most small buyers.
- Its hourly rate is also at the top of the range, tied with two others.
- Clients rate its value for the price second-lowest on the list. That is a fair match for the premium.
- Website design is the smallest share of its work, tied with one other agency. Its site traffic is among the lowest here.
- A track record tied for second-longest and a strong client rating show real staying power. Cost and a narrow web focus keep it at the bottom of the profiled group.
Snapshot of Client Reviews
Praise centers on timely delivery, strong project management, and branding work for nonprofit and public clients. The complaints are specific. Visuals did not always match the strategy and writing. Cost scored lowest, and one project ran over budget and schedule.
Our Take
Pick Fieldtrip if you are a nonprofit or civic group with a real budget. It fits brand and web together. Skip it if you need a low-cost site or a pure web specialist.
Disclosure: Our recommendations include both locally headquartered agencies and offshore firms that provide services in this region. Some agencies featured do not maintain a physical office here but have an established track record of delivering services to clients in the area.
How to Find the Right Website Design Agency for Your Business
Choosing a Web Design partner gets easier when you know what to check. I focus on six areas that separate a good fit from a risky one. Use them to test any web design agency, ranked here or not.
1. Review Their Portfolio for Projects Like Yours
Open the portfolio and look for sites like yours. A bourbon brand and a freight company need very different pages. I look for clear goals, live sites, and work that still runs well. If every example looks the same, the agency may lack range.
2. Ask for Clear Pricing
Many agencies hide prices until a call, so ask early. Listing sites show minimum budgets from $1,000 to over $75,000, which is a wide gap. Ask what the quote includes and who owns the site at launch. Our Cost Calculator gives you a rough range first.
3. Check Their SEO Skills
A new site should be easy to find. Ask how the team handles SEO during the build, from page speed to site structure. Local buyers often search with the words Louisville and agency together. Ask how the agency would help your pages show up for those searches.
4. Test How They Communicate
Good teams answer clearly and on time, even before you sign. Many Louisville buyers run small businesses and value trust over polish. Ask who you will talk to, how often, and in which tool. Slow replies now will not speed up later.
5. Plan for Growth
Your site should grow as your business does. A logistics firm may start with lead forms, then add quote tools. Ask whether the agency can build that next step, and what it would cost. Some also offer UI/UX Design, which helps when pages need to guide visitors.
6. Look for Local Know-How
Local teams know how Louisville buyers shop and decide. The market also reaches across the river into Southern Indiana, so ask about clients on both sides. Proof matters more than an office address. Ask for a past client you can call.
What to Avoid When Hiring a Website Design Agency
Most bad hires trace back to a few repeat errors. Each one is easy to spot before you sign. Here are the six I would watch for first.
1. Choosing on Price Alone
Many buyers search for the cheapest quote first. That can lead to a template site that needs a rebuild within a year. A low price can also hide extras, as our website design cost data shows. Compare what each quote includes, not just the total.
2. Ignoring SEO
A site that looks great but cannot be found brings no leads. Buyers often search with place names, so your pages need to match those terms. Ask how the agency plans titles, speed, and page structure. Fixing this after launch costs more.
3. Skipping the Portfolio Review
A strong sales pitch is not proof of skill. Logistics and manufacturing firms need quote forms and clear service pages, which many portfolios never show. Look for projects close to yours. If none exist, ask how the team would handle yours.
4. Trusting Listing Scores Blindly
A high score on a directory can look final. Some listings are paid, and a score does not show project fit. Read the actual reviews and look for details about the work. Check more than one platform before you decide.
5. Overlooking Mobile and Accessibility
Many visitors will open your site on a phone. Test the agency’s own work on a small screen before you hire. Healthcare and care providers also need accessible, private forms. Ask how the team checks this before launch.
6. Having No Support Plan
A launch is the start, not the finish. Sites need regular website maintenance, including updates, backups, and fixes. Clutch estimates put care plans near $150 to $500 per month, so ask now. Plan ahead for busy seasons like Derby week, when traffic jumps.
Our Final Take
Louisville website design agencies are easier to compare once you know your own priorities.
Start with the ranking, then read a few profiles that match your budget and project. Treat the order as a guide, not a verdict. A lower-ranked agency can still fit you better.
If your search is wider, compare this list with web design agencies across the USA. Look ahead too.
Visitors now book tours, tastings, and events from their phones, so booking journeys matter more each year. Ask every agency you shortlist how it would build that path.
At OneLittleWeb, we update this list as new data comes in. Check back before you sign anything. Then call your top picks, ask for a past client to speak with, and compare quotes.
Behind the Rankings: Our Evaluation Process
Why This Ranking Is Different
Most agency roundups lean on editorial opinion, self-reported claims, or paid placement. This ranking works differently. It applies one repeatable scoring framework to every agency.
I scored website design agencies serving Louisville. That includes local firms, national firms, and offshore teams. Every agency is judged by the same framework.
Physical location is not a ranking factor, and no agency gets extra points for being local. No agency paid for a spot or a higher position.
I also keep scored metrics apart from qualitative research. Service pages, portfolios, case studies, and notable clients help me understand each agency. So do awards, partnerships, certifications, and media mentions. I use them to write the profiles.
They do not add or remove ranking points unless they match a weighted metric below.
Where Your Data Comes From
We collected the data independently during 2026. Each number comes from a source that fits what it measures.
SEMrush gave us estimated monthly website traffic. Because it is an estimate, treat it as a comparison signal. Client ratings and review counts came from Clutch, DesignRush, G2, Google Business Profile, and Trustpilot.
Employee ratings and review volume came from Glassdoor and Indeed. LinkedIn gave us each agency’s team size. Agency websites and other public sources covered services, pricing, rates, project minimums, and business history.
I also reviewed service pages, portfolios, case studies, public client examples, awards, partnerships, and certifications. These confirmed website design capabilities and added context for the profiles.
Unless represented by one of the weighted metrics below, these qualitative findings do not affect the numerical score.
The Five Dimensions That Shape Your Rankings
Each agency is scored across five weighted areas. Positive categories add points, while pricing metrics apply deductions for higher cost barriers.
1. Website Design Focus & Value Assessment (20%)
This category measures how central website design is to the agency’s offering. It also reflects how clients rate the value they received relative to cost.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Design Focus | 10% | Website design appeared as a core agency service |
| Client Rating for Cost | 10% | Average cost/value rating from selected review platforms |
Agencies benefit when website design is a real part of their business. Clients must also report strong value for money.
2. Brand Authority (45%)
Brand Authority measures visibility, scale, and operating history.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Website Traffic | 20% | Higher estimated SEMrush traffic contributed more points |
| LinkedIn Team Size | 15% | Larger teams contributed more points |
| Years in Business | 10% | Longer operating histories contributed more points |
These metrics act as comparative signals of market presence, delivery capacity, and operating stability. A larger agency is not automatically a better one.
3. Client Satisfaction (30%)
This category combines rating quality with review volume.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Client Rating | 15% | Combined ratings from selected review platforms |
| Total Client Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume contributed more confidence to the score |
A high rating backed by many reviews carries more weight than the same rating from only a few. Review volume adds confidence to the score.
4. Employee Satisfaction (25%)
Employee sentiment gives an extra signal about organizational stability.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Average Employee Rating | 10% | Average rating from Glassdoor and Indeed |
| Number of Employee Reviews | 15% | Greater review volume reduced the influence of very small samples |
Both the rating and the number of employee reviews matter. A small sample has less pull on the score than a large one.
5. Cost Accessibility Adjustment (-20%)
This is the only category that subtracts points.
| Metric | Weight | How We Calculated It |
| Hourly Rate | -10% | Higher hourly rates received larger deductions |
| Minimum Project Cost | -10% | Higher entry costs reduced accessibility scores |
A deduction does not mean expensive agencies deliver worse work. It only accounts for how accessible each agency is across a wider range of budgets. The combined adjustment can reach 20 points.
How the Final Score Works
Each metric is normalized, weighted, and combined into a score out of 100.
Positive metrics contribute up to 120 points. The Cost Accessibility Adjustment can deduct up to 20 points based on hourly rate and minimum project cost.
No single metric decides an agency’s rank. Larger agencies may gain from stronger traffic, team size, or longevity. Smaller agencies may excel in client satisfaction, employee sentiment, website design focus, value, or affordability.
Only the weighted metrics affect rankings. Awards, clients, partnerships, and certifications may appear in profiles. So may case studies, portfolio quality, and local presence. None of them change scores.
This framework allows consistent comparison across agencies of different sizes, pricing models, and market positions.
Disclosure: All rankings and scores are based solely on publicly available data collected at the time of publication. These rankings reflect the market landscape at the time of publication. Although individual metrics may change over time, the evaluation framework prioritizes long-term capability signals, making major ranking fluctuations unlikely.
